i had a good computer then! well, my father and i used it.

and no idea which games released which year. is there a site with a good list?

maybe realms of arkania: star trail

Can you remember what happened to Mortal Kombat 2 in Germany? I went to Toys'R'Us with my stepfather on release-day and bought a copy for my Mega Drive and a day after the police went into the stores and got all the copies removed because of the bpjs - we felt like criminals and many "friends" I had back then came to me and wanted to play the forbidden game :)

Super Metroid

What?! I can't hear you over all this awsome! - Pyrrhon (Kid Icarus:Uprising)

Final Ultimate Legendary Earth Power Super Max Justice Future Miracle Dream Beautiful Galaxy Big Bang Little Bang Sunrise Starlight Infinite Fabulous Totally Final Wonderful Arrow...FIRE! - Wonder-Red (The Wonderful101)

for me there is no contest:

Final Fantasy III/VI is the clear game of that year.

I don't really like Metroid so that is close to being best for me, DKC is a very close 2nd place, i love both FF6 and DKC but i love FF6 more.

FF6 is probably on my top 5 games of all time also; it is up there, and if it had not been for Chrono Trigger, Suikoden and Breath of Fire 2/3 it would be my favourite game of all time.

Alien breed: Tower assault

There were a hell of a lot of great games in 94. But I don't think any of them came close to the total package that was Super Metroid. Not even Donkey Kong Country. And FFVI was amazing (just about all of the SNES Square and Enix rpgs were), but I would still argue that while it was a fantastic rpg, one of the best ever, Super Metroid was still just more of a total package, super replay value kind of game. It was literally a gamechanger, even though it was standing on the shoulders of elements that Metroid had already introduced to gaming years earlier.

Out of the ones i've played, definitely Donkey Kong Country on the SNES

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

I am with you. Sadly Square and Nintendo decided Europe doesn't like RPGs, I can't imagine how much this game would have floored me in the early 90s.

Edit: sorry no computer games in poll.. i dont think many ppl had good computers in '94.

You'd be surprised how many actually did have them and didn't care much for consoles ;)

im just jealous because i always wanted a gaming pc and had to wait to 2010. Im sure theres lotsa ppl on this site that had em but just looking at price you can see where im coming from. PC 486/33 250 mb hard drive 3 1/2 inch floppy drive 1 mg memory $1,260.00 Annapolis 1993

Yeah, computers were quite expensive back than, specially PCs (I got my first in 95 (Pentium I), so I played a lot of games I listed a year later (but for few I played at friend's), along with tons of other PC games from the past).

Still, those years were transitional for computer gaming, I remember at late 80's/early 90's teasing my PC friends with superior looking Amiga games, just to be jealous at them not a year or two later for games such as Commanche, Myst, Doom, X-Wing and many others.

was wipeout released in 1994?
than i'd say wipeout(or Another World or Flashback)

Donkey Kong Country just owned that wow factor in 1994. Pre-rendered 3D graphics were unlike anything seen before on a 16 bit consoles.
