Pikmin

I ignored this game for years thinking it looked stupid....Pikmin 3 later became the reason why I bought a Wii. I know it's a Wii U title, but I still enjoyed my Wii after Pikmin 3 migrated.

Who would have thought that a game about coloured little bug-things, collecting garbage like batteries and bottle caps, could be so fun?

Super Smash Bros.

Nintendo was actually originally not going to localize the original game, but it did so well in Japan, they couldn't ignore it. Really, on paper, a cross franchise fighter using only Nintendo characters is silly right? Especially since Nintendo isn;t exactly known for making fighting games, but it works. However I think this appeals to Nintendo fans much more then fighter fans as it serves as a database of sorts, and introduces us to new franchise (like Fire Emblem).

That's all I got, I thought Pikmin was a perfect example.

I kinda want to say Pokemon, but it's so weird of a concept, it actually makes sense, especially when you call it by the Japanese name "Pocket Monsters." Think about it, a portable game (Pocket) where you collect and battle little Monsters, makes sense in a crazy way.

Pokemon Snap was more fun than Pokemon Stadium

I mean, Pokemon fighting in 3D with full animation and voiceover was less fun than taking virtual photos of them
