The right move. Nextbox poses no threat in Japan compared to the EU/US, so if Sony have to miss the holidays in any of the big three regions it should be Japan.

Actually... its not like Microsoft would win Japan if they delayed the release in Japan instead. Europe is more important. If they delay it, Microsoft will get a lead on them.

I find this is a good move. Europe is an important market (let's ignore the crisis for a bit). Of course launches are problematic and things often go awry. Let us up these goals will materialize.

The only way MS will gain ground in Europe is through Fifa.

Now that i think about it, COD is also a big mover there aswell now but it wasnt at the time the 360 released ahead of the ps3 there. If PS4 released in 2014 in Europe while 720 hit in 2013 then it would be harder to gain ground back since the 720 would have a Fifa and COD pretty much all to itself for a while. It would still get surpassed because of Gran Turismo though.

So this is actually a smart and well thought out move from Sony on the Europe part
