Sony have been pumping out lots of new IP's this gen. originality is there.. you just have to look for it

There have been always fad games. This gen the fad was FPS. First person shooters will always exist, but in the coming years, I wouldn't be surprised if there were less. I believe BF4 might deliver the final blow to the COD series, which should die because it's getting worse every year.

15 years ago during the PS1 era, a game like say Devil Dice could be made and released at full price. Original and clever games were made as full releases that today people wouldn't dream of paying £40 for.

These games get released as download only for £5-10. Yet we get lots of generic First person or Third person adverture or shooter as these are the games that sell as they are a tried and tested format.

Originality exists just not at the full price.
