Taken my profit from any remaining Japanese stocks... Made enough and profits are good. It's all gone very volatile again over there.

I said previously that it was over cooked and it now looks as though Abenomics may be unravelling, with splits in the BOJ.

Hope you all took my advice and sold your Japanese stocks back then,

why has this thread been allowed to die?

Sorry for not updating in a while.

To tell the truth, almost every stock in the market has traded within 1-2% of its current price for the last couple weeks. There have been no big moves other than Sony being up, and Gamestop, which seems to be recovering from a precipitous drop around mid may.

Huh!?  Your last update was 21st May... Sony is down 14% since then   22.9 to 19.8.

I ditched what I had left at a decent time, see my post above.  The Japanese market surge may well be overcooked as I predicted a while back.  Abenomics may not be what its cracked up to be.

what I meant is that everything has returned to very close to their normal levels previous. Sony went up then back down...it's only up a couple of percentage points. That isn't something I'd call remarkable. Every stock has been like that since my last update. All these stocks are trading up and down or down and up. The only exceptions are Gamestop, and slightly EA.

But yes, I will be tracking everythign daily again.

Anyone still there ?

I was watching Sony stock, Their stock has been up 50% every console launch the next month.

Anyone thinks it would be a good investment ?

Nintendo's (Japanese exchange) stock is up 12% over the past two days. I don't know if positive vibes on Pikmin 3 doing well are driving this or something else. The Nikkei isn't up that much and Sony is flat over the past 5 days. Any ideas?

I'm a little surprised as quarterly profits come out in about 2 weeks and it's hard to imagine they will be pretty since Wii U is still hurting and while 3DS is doing well it's hard to tell if it's on track for 18 million as forecasted.

Trying to decide if I hold or take profits and re-enter at a drop - probably wait to see how strong Pikmin holds and drives consoles in Japan

I would say wait until their financials, which drop on august 1st. There's a saying in the markets called buy on rumour, sell on news. Basically what this means is that even when there's good news, the market almost never responds appropriately, because then you have a measurable statistic. When there's rumour to go off, the potential for growth is immeasurable. This is what creates spikes.

Given the performance of many companies around news time, I'd say hold off until financials in roughly two weeks. Even with good news, stocks should dip right before financials. I'd be willing to bet on that.

Yeah I noticed that too, it was coming off of the rumours that nintendo was going to start developing for ios. I'd say wait. Should have a dip soon.
