Sony is pushing for a strong launch in US and EU. If demand is too high there, the Japan launch will have to be pushed back if logistics can't support it. So it's undetermined as of now. It's region free so I'll just get a US version.

Microsoft... doesn't care. Xbox 360, XB1 won't work in Japan so can't even import one, region lock, xboxdone.

From a businesspoint Sony focusing on US and EU seems smarter. Going for the market where the other console is doing well and trying to do better there.
