I can't understand how the ps4 pro is #1 on amazon since it's reveal and the slim is not.

On mediacreate gaf threads I've reading nothing but the slim will be big but the Pro will flop. Read it so much I started to believe it myself. At this rate I'm thinking the Pro will have a decent first week and chug along thereafter.

People who buy from Amazon are more hardcore. The average buyer will enter the store looking for a PS4 without much research, see the lower price of the slim and just buy it.


And we all know Japan isn't as digitally centric as westerners, so this represents a smaller % population then say US Amazon.

The Pro will of course have a decent first week worldwide from hardcores, but casuals create legs usually.

Yes, almost sold-out everywhere. Very, but very limited shipment.

This was way too limited if that's it. Sold out within hours.  They should at least make enough for a few days.  

I guess new shipments should be around the corner, at least before Wednesday.

Usually people who usually buy things online, tend to do it very quickly as soon the product appears. However, I do agree that Pro won't anything but flop, aside first two weeks.  Pro is not made for Japan, and the price barrier is significantly high.

All you said it's correct, less this part. In terms of software (digital purchase through digital stores as PSN, XBL or NN) Japan is not digitally centric as in the Western. That's correct. But Rakuten and Amazon (who represent more than 50% of online purchases in Japan) are online stores that do sell retail products, and Japanese people are so much into buying online. I mean, e-commerce is REALLY big.

I mainly meant in regards to consoles and console video games, to clarify. The used market for console video games is too big to ignore for most people. But of course all consoles are physical :).
