Ahahahaha FFXV is losing to Berseria and even Persona 5 at Rakuten.

The Tales of Zestiria anime will have a tie-in to Tales of Beseria.

I thought that it was only TSUTAYA doing this, but it seems that it's nationwide the 1,000yen discount on PSVita with the purchase of one game. As it was said before, the new Splatoon bundle is fully available at stores, and even though the older models are about to be replaced, the ones in stock are selling much better, as Hiska mentioned, because of the price barrier. Pokémon GO is the star of this summer, and is pushing Sun and Moon pre-orders. ORAS, and XY (the latter in a less relevance) got bigger sales as well. Some stores are having big interest on Persona 5 reservations.

Yass for YW taking the top 2 spots.
Pocky Lover Boy!

This Vita 1000 yen off thing doesn't seem to be doing much to shift hardware.
I think it's plateau'd really without some games aiming at different demographics to really expand the userbase. The otaku are there; the otome fans are there; there's a decent number of younger gamers thanks to Minecraft and a small number of mainstream gamers that probably picked one up for the bigger games.
I'm not sure how they could expand it any further at this point (not that they want to anyway) without getting Capcom/Level-5 etc. on board which doesn't seem likely.

Oh i didn't knew about that.
By the way, Square Enix released their fiscal report or something (that thing where they mention profits and forecast) and they made a special mention for DQH2 for helping their profits. Seems like the game did very well. I am pretty sure that someone can translate the important parts.

They also mentioned Builders in their previous report for doing well. I don't think they mentioned Joker 3 anywhere though... Did the game sold so below their expectations?

Expect ZhugeEX (if you know that twitter account) to properly report about SEs financial report ... maybe he will bring some light. And I doubt Joker 3 did badly ... I mean it charted long and had good sales - doubt they expected much more. Maybe they just didn´t mention it back then because it didn`t do way better than they expected.

Joker 3 got discounts in many stores after the first week and had problem to clear the first shipment. In fact we still don't know if it managed to sell the first shipment yet, so i wouldn't say it had good sales. In general yes, 600k+ is a good number in Japan but seeing how good Joker 1 and 2 did SE was probably hoping for 1 million sales.
It is a strange world when a high-effort HD game selling 600k can be more of a success than a low-effort SD game selling the same numbers, but it definitely is a matter of expectations - Joker 3 should've done a lot better than it did given the console it released on and the series it's from.

"In the area of console games, a favorable start for Dragon Quest Heroes II on top of strong download sales of catalogue titles released previously results in 51 billion yen sales (42,2 billion yen last year), 8,9 billion yen operating income (7,9 billion yen last year) and 5,3 billion yen net income (5,9 billion yen last year). Solid quarter again."

Maybe Heroes 2 was cheaper to make? I mean the game must have a record development time for an HD title. One year and 3 after months after the first game, plus the game uses the same assets from the first one.

Yeah to expand it needs games like monster hunter, Yokai, gta stories, metal gear solid portable etc etc. Unlikely it'll ever happen. Maybe the FF9 remake if true and world of FF. It will probably sell another 2m and then be done. 7m+ lifetime sales. Could have been worse.
