Does anyone think with next gen that publishers will make remasters similar to this gen with ps2 games or are the jumps to similar now.

Gaikai and the difficulty of porting will make sure they don't do what they did with PS2 games this gen.

No because today we are in transition from SD to HD games, this explain why we have many PS2 titles on HD Collections nowadays. In the next gen console we will continue with HD or FullHD games. so i don't see reason for more remasters collections.

I'd like to see Nintendo take a page out of sony's book here and remaster some of their older gems, Wind Waker is an awesome place to start but I want to see a bunch! As for Sony/MS and big third parties I suspect, as paulrage said, that since the jump is much less notable we will see less of these.

SD to HD was the main reason for the remasters we're seeing now, so I'd say no.

Remember the PS2 games are bundled for $40 or $30 for 2 or 3 games. I would gladly pay $40 for Uncharted 1-3 in 1080p 60fps and PS4 compatible. I wonder how trophies would be handled?

you realize that was just a raise in resolution like 720p to 1080p right?  I mean they changed the aspect ratio but still its just part of a progression.

Should they?... NO!

Yes. We'll have big PS3 exclusive games remastered in 1080p at 60fps with little to no aliasing and 3D support. Sony Santa Monica already said it'd be easy to get GoW3 & GoW;A running on the PS3, frankly Sony would be stupid not to from a business perspective. It can't cost much to tart up a PS3 game and they can make a lot of money from them. Look at the first HD remaster this gen, God of War Collection, it's now sold over 3 million (all SKU's) which made Sony a ton of money at little expense.

Would Sony not carry on remastering their best and biggest games just because a minority of vocal people on the internet think it's bad practice or milking? No, there's money to be made and a new generation of gamers who'll want to experience the games they missed. I think it's a good thing.

an uncharted 3 with full HD and 60 frames per second would be glorious though!
