Forums - Sony - New PS3/4/Vita Games Announced!

So there has been a slew of new games just announced by sony. Here they are, discuss away! Counterspy seems like the most interesting to me.

 Doki-Doki Universe-PS3/4/Vita

“It’s tough to describe Doki-Doki Universe,” studio founder Greg Johnson admits, “because it’s actually a set of related products that will be released at the same time. Players’ first exposure to Doki-Doki will be in the form of a free download for their PS Vita, PS3 or PS4. This is a light version of the game where players can fly around a Universe and take fun personality quizzes.”

He later notes that, “If players decide they want to land on planets and interact with all the crazy characters in our Universe, they can purchase and download the full game, which you might call an ‘RPG/Simulation/Interactive Story’ game.”

Hohokum-PS3/4/Vita

The game is a collaboration between Sony’s first-party studio Sony Santa Monica (the guys behind God of War and a whole slew of indie games, including projects from thatgamecompany and Giant Sparrow), artist Richard Hogg and British studio Honeyslug. “It is a whimsical colorful game with an emphasis on playful exploration and creativity,” Hogg explains. “You take on the role of a curious flying snake-like character. A Technicolor, calligraphic, worm-like, kite-like being!”

“One of the main aims for Hohokum is to create something where the usual pressures of videogames – constantly being told to do things, fearing failure and being challenged to earn progress – were all absent,” Hogg later explains. “This is quite a challenge, but we’re really excited about how it’s coming together. There are goals and secrets to discover. There are even Trophies. But at its heart Hohokum is a playground, a place to wander about, perhaps even lose yourself in.”

CounterSpy-PS3/Vita

The game revolves around an organization called C.O.U.N.T.E.R., and the game itself takes place during the Cold War as “two opposing Super Powers [are] embroiled in a frenetic Arms Race that threatens the existence of humanity.” Interestingly, you work for neither side. You’re instead trying to sabotage both of their plans so that they don’t ultimately bring about the end of the world with their powerful arsenals.

CounterSpy is a side-scrolling game akin to Flashback, Out of This World, Impossible Mission, Metroid and Shadow Complex. “We’re inspired to deliver something that brings our own voice to this genre,” Dynamighty’s David Nottingham notes. The game is entirely single-player focused, though you’ll be able to compete with your friends via high scores, and the studio promises “to talk… more about our cross-platform plans in future updates.”

Is this what they were teasing? is there more?

Hmm, sounds interesting. I particularly like the sound of Counter Spy.

Are Sony sorta going for fames which seem indie, but in fact aren't? It's what it seems like.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
