From time to time when browsing you'll see people have been banned and wonder what for but having the above option enabled means you cannot find out why.  This istops people seeing what rules they broke and what they did to breach the rules.  I can understand that people may want to keep some items hidden from their profile but having it hidden also seems to stop you looking at other users historic posts.  The main protagonists I've noticed who hide their profiles so far appear to be some of the more contreversial users on this site. 

If someone is banned we should be able to see what they were moderated for, we should also be able to see their post history too if they have the ability to look at other peoples post history.  Can this feature be tweaked or should we all start hiding our profile instead to level the playing field? 

Wasn't there a user on here once that stole someones identity?

Maybe some people only want their friends to be able to comment and view their page, Plus when you get banned you get bombarded with users you've never talked to adding their 2 cents xD

Maybe in that case it's a question of what should be hidden then rather than a blanket over the entire profile.  I can understand not wanting people you don't know posting on your wall but it seems given we have friend list its not a hard piece of coding to have a restrict wall to friends option.

They already have that option dont they? I'm pretty sure you can restrict your profile to just your friends.

The issue for me is that some of the information being restricted should be available regardless of whether the profile is hidden or not. The posts section and the general information at the top should be available regardless, I agree hiding personal information and all their wall posts, friends lists, etc is fine.
