| Kresnik said: Well, this was a surprisingly interesting article. All this corporate exclusivity is confusing. Activision & Microsoft have been in cahoots for a long time, but now it seems that Acti are (slightly) softening up towards Sony ($$$) while EA, traditionally closer to Sony, are getting closer to Microsoft ($$$?). And Ubisoft and Sony seem to be getting closer, judging by all their exclusive DLC as of late. Weird. |
Bold: The Source engine is dated... the last build was released in 2012 but only fixes and some tricks are made... not revolutionary or some modens features released after 2004 (the engine was released in 2004).
But Gabe Newell said Source 2 was in development since 2012 but there are expecting the right game to release it... I can't think other than Half-Life 3 or Half-Life 2 Eps. 3 to release the new Source 2 engine.
So I think Respawn is not using the Source engine.
