Yes because it is more rationnal to judge the next Xbox (the one you have no clue about until MS annonce it officialy) based on all the rumors you listed.
You do not seem to be more rationnal than anyone else.

I go by the information I have. When information is confirmed I'll adjust or stand by my statements now. That's how being rational works, you adapt to the information available to form logical deductions.

Why do you so often recommend people to learn to read? If you want serious discussions you better keep a reasonable and objective way of arguing. Hinting people to their (potential) failures doesn't put you in the position of beinga better discussant. Your arguments do this neither.

Because he didn't read what I wrote. He said I stated it as a fact, when in reality I explicitly stated based on rumors. That's a fairly substantial difference, no?

And what about the most recent rumors that hint that MS will go the same route as Sony? Obviously you don't have all relevant information which leads to perhaps totally wrong deductions.

I'd say the Wii back in 2005/2006 range had the most negative image of any major console release I have ever witnessed. The name, the box itself, the controller, the marketing campaign and the games were all lambasted in that time frame and I heard over and over how it would be Nintendo's last console and greatest failure.

Entirely possible, but whereas we have Sony confirming information concerning used games we don't have that for MS which leaves the possibility on the table.

Of course it is still possible but I think to post reasonably one should get all the information that is available and then post. No accusing but otherwise it seems you intentionally pick only bad rumors so you can deduct a bad future for the NextBox.

Call it like I see it. Not a lot of positive information coming from that camp.

@bold
WTF? lol

A rumor is a rumor. A rumor should be discussed whether its true or not. The source of the rumor should also be considered as some sources are more reliable than others. I never let a rumor change my opinion of anyone or anything. Thanks for your concern though. I can't get brainwashed though. I do my own research and form my own opinions.

It should be discussed. Nobody is denying that. You shouldnt let it make you hate a company though.

To throw a bunch of hate at a company or a product because of rumors is quite frankly pathetic.

yeah, I agree it is pathetic. But comments like "if this is true, Microsoft won't get my money" are completely justified and are more "what ifs" than just plain hate comments.

The problem is that people like you don't want to buy the nextbox anyway but still would post 'if this is true, Microsoft won't get my money' because you hate microsoft that much.   Do what you want next time when some Sony fan complains why gamers don't like sony fans I just post your hypocrit post what Carl has showed us.  If Sony fans really don't want to see the hate them they should have got rid of you a long time ago...

No, I don't hate Microsoft. I dislike their current business practices and strategies. These can always change and next-gen is their chance to convince me to buy the next XBox. It is an option for me despite what you might believe. I am not loyal to Sony, I've gamed over many different consoles over my life and that includes Xbox 360.

(You can reply to this once your ban is over)

Not really even debatable.

The best rumor is that MS may not prevent used games.

Yay?

It is completely deserved. These rumors that are going around are horrible and very anti-consumer.
Hopefully Microsoft doesn't go through with these rumored plans. Hopefully they focus on the hardcore gamers which will be dishing out $500 for this thing this holiday.

Yeah. A whole lot of hate and negativity because of rumors is deserved.

I been telling people rumors like this are stupid...and now look how its affecting Gamestop...
I think at the worst this would act as a sort of "online pass" blocking content on the disc if you buy used, with the option to unlock the full game. It would essentially turn used games into no more than demos. This would actually be a good idea as it would lower the price of used games so people would be able to try more games

The irony is here. When the PS4 rumors were going round then "rumors like this are stupid" and it could be turned into a "good idea". Now youre saying the hate on Microsoft is completely deserved because of rumors.

You need to give your head a shake.

You might want to check your link :D

well duh. One is a Sony console, the other is not.

Nope. PS4 or Xbox 720. Any anti-consumer console wouldn't be getting my support and I certainly wouldn't be defending it.

Gonig back to the comment Carl dug up, Sony had patents like these before. We all know that most patents never get used in consumer products. Most are just there to prevent the competition from using it.

(I told another user this and I'll tell you, I don't care if you don't like me, but keep it out of the discussion. Don't cross that line)

Yet there you are in another post defending an anti-consumer move on a Sony console.

And not sure what you mean by "if you don't like me" and all that other stuff. The thread is about extreme negativity, someone else pointed out how you are part of that problem. So its actually part of the discussion. Has nothing to do with "liking you" or not. I don't even know you. Don't make it personal.

When have I defended anything that's anti-consumer? Show me the proof.
