Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo’s E3 Bombshell: It’s Going to Be Okay

Nintendo is distancing themselves from events they can’t completely control.

That’s not to say they’ll avoid Gamescom forever, or that they plan to leave E3. But the signs point to them wanting much more control over their announcements. Like I’ve mentioned before, they want to “train” us to expect the big announcements from their Nintendo Direct broadcasts, rather than other venues. It’s an Apple-ish approach that they’re adopting, and I think it’ll become much more obvious over the coming months.

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

Around the Network

By blowing this whole thing out of proportion the naysayers are just promoting the Nintendo Directs at E3. Now EVERYONE will be watching to see what the fuss was about.

We could have (and did) just read this over on IGN. If you have something to post on here, let it be your own interpretation of it with a link. Not copying the IGN article word for word, including the headline. Makes you seem like there's not an ounce of originality in you at all.

Here's a link to the post I made over at IGN about the Nintendo not giving an E3 press conference.

And you can spread your vanity in ways that don't belittle others.

Just saying.
