I definitly picked up a 3DS at the right time, when the games worth a damn other than Mario Kart 7 are finally starting to get here; Monster Hunter, Paper Mario, Pokemon, Link to the Past 2, DKC, Yoshi's Island, etc.. Only took them about 2 years! Glad to hear that things look to pick up on the third party side of things more too.
