What We're Not Sure About The Next Xbox:

That it requires an "always-online" internet connection. This one's strange. We've heard from some sources that the console will definitely need to be online to start playing games. Others have said this isn't the case. Some are even suggesting that it's the console's entertainment and TV capabilities that will need this, not your games. Because of this confusion, it goes in the maybe pile.

I'm actually quite excited to see this. Hopefully it won't be a disappointment and the games that they will show (if they do) will neither be it.

Some details from Paul Thurrott: http://windowsitpro.com/paul-thurrotts-wininfo/here-comes-next-xbox?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+windowsitpro%2Fwininfo+%28WIN%3ENews%3EWinInfo+News%29

I'd still say wait on it. The negative reaction towards always online is still out there and I don't think MS is stupid enough to go that route. Also $500 would be rather painful, granted the other option is cheaper upfront.

Yeap

At this point no use speculated, just wait it out.
It's less then a month now.

It's just that simple.

If there is a sub version maybe that console needs a Internet connection to work till you pay it off. That way you cant just buy it for the cheaper price then stop paying on it. This woukd explain the confusion among the leaks.

So the 499 console not required to be connected to play
299 console needs a Internet connection to play

i think they should have waited to e3 its a little too late now

What would it be too late for, though? Sony hasn't even shown us the PS4 console, itself. May 21 gets the ball rollin', leaving E3 to finish the job.

too late because ps4 literally has had all the mind share and hype in the past 2-3 months...people have already decided *ps4 next gen for sure*...and the longer they wait the bigger they are gonna have to present. all in all tho i think they shoulda just waited for e3 because its where all the eyes are gonna be anyways

What people? Are you talking about the opinion of people on VGChartz and Gamespot/Gamefaqs forums? Those people measure in the thousands when the launch sales are going to be in the millions. Let's let the American (and other countries) public decide who is going to win next gen. It was all doom and gloom for the Wii when it came out (go look at online forums back then), and guess what? It was the best selling console last gen.

sadly it's true.  I saw when IGN put this on Facebook that a lot of people either said "don't care. Always internet is stupid" or "too late.  PS4"  I don't support such attitudes but they are already deciding and if there's any form of always on (even if it's not bad) then they'll act like all the worst rumors are true and get PS4.
