You should have ignored the fact that Super Mario Bros: Lost Levels is included. That game alone destroy every single modern (and old) mario game in terms of challenge and fun.

I really need to finish NSMBU. I am ashamed of myself.

I prefer SMB3 and NSMBW way over SMW. SMW was the easiest of the games by far.

You just had to bring Sonic up *eyeroll* BTW SMB3 takes a crap on SMW in eveyway possible. Not saying SMW is bad just not as awesome as SMB3

Nothing new to me, I always thought it was way inferior than SMB3. And yeah, I actually think the linear, action-oriented Sonic the Hedgehog is a better game overall.

I will keep my nostalgia glasses on. (1) &{2) are likely true but I was 10. The rest is debatable. Thanks for the perspective.

Out of all the 2D Mario games i have played over the years,believe it or not NSMBU is my favourite. Finding all the star coins and secret exits is a real challenge, and at times the game can be quite brutal. I look at all the other games with nostalgia and fondness, but i like to move on and i actually like what Nintendo do with the NSMB series.

1) "The new games are too easy." - TRUE, you can even use the cape to finish most of levels in seconds just flying.

2) "The new games are too short." - TRUE, I can't deny that.

3) "The new games don't offer enough new things." - TRUE, instead the full world map... SMB. 3 was more complete.

4) "The new games don't push the systems they are on." - TRUE but it was launch title lol.

5) "Super Mario Bros. just isn't what it used to be back then." - I didn't understand very well.

6) "Nowadays Nintendo only uses the series to cash in." - TRUE, I can't deny again.

Even so I loved Super Mario World... magic is magic even when the Super Mario Bros. 3 was a better game.

The first 4 sonic games ( 1 CD 2 3&K) are collectively better than first 4 Mario games. Sonic got better each game while Mario kept falling slightly then coming back. SMB>SMB2 ( any version)<<SMB3>SMW

My personal order: SMW>SMB3>>SMB>SMB2 (any version)

The screen not being able to scroll left in the first SMB...Jesus. Still a better game than SMB2 or "The lost levels" though

Ah as much as I love Super Mario World a lot of it has to do with nostalgia. It's not a bad games by any means but other Mario games were much better than it.

Looking back I'm glad of the changes they made in the future games, especially with Yoshi. That dinosaur broke the game.
