4J Studios dropped subtle and not so subtle hints Monday for what is upcoming in Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. This includes the latest on texture pack support and a possible surprise for the one year anniversary of the game being released to Xbox LIVE.
The developers confirmed that it is still working on texture packs for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft by tweeting, "Texture pack support is going ok. Can't say any more at the moment."
This is the first time that 4J Studios has mentioned texture pack support since it first confirmed it was coming last November. The developer has been mum since but how it will be supported is still unknown. Since Microsoft policies prevent players from uploading images to Xbox LIVE, it is entirely possible that texture packs will be implemented the same way as players skins which means DLC packs for one or two dollars.
Meanwhile, May 9, 2013 will mark the one year anniversary of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. When asked by a fan on Twitter if 4J Studios had anything planned to mark the occasion, the studio responded, "If we told you, then it wouldn't be a surprise!"
