I'd only heard of N4G from posts on here and never visited the site until the news feed was added to VGChartz to their news section. I don't browse the forums there except one time a while ago when I made an ill thought out thread about VGChartz members posting like an alter-ego of their usernames here, free to run amoc (not point of this post), and never will seriously because of the comments section on the news articles.

I just finished reading this news bit about how the next Xbox won't be compatible with second hand games.

Anyway, after reading just the first few comments I feel embarresed to even enjoy visiting gaming sites in general.

For example, there is this comment.

'Next Xbox Will Not Be Compatible With Second Hand'
So no buying used games, no borrowing games from friends, and no option to rent a game even?
I really never thought a new game console could sound as unappealing as the next Xbox

It currently has 93 agrees and 14 disagrees.

Now obviously a new games console having used game market/sharing with friends is a negative but that's besides the point, his comment added literally nothing to the discussion. No insight, no analysis just a totally idiotic childish remark that any fool could draw their own conclusion from just the headline of the news itself.

So my question is, do many of you VGChartz members go there with a serious account? Is there any genuine discussion possible of any kind? Why is the whole place made up of Sony fanboys. The last point is particularly relevent to myself because I only recently started to find a love for Sony and am swayed much more that way from what the PS4 is going to put on the table. The comments on N4G really put me off going the Sony way of things and I really can't imagine these people are a good croud to share and common interest in. Do they not realise that their silly childish antics put off people who actually might like to give Sony a chance?

Curious on some opinions, am I missing the point here and maybe N4G is just a place where people go and make trouble and act like immature silly little kids for fun just for a few kicks and they aren't actually like that, or are there really that number of people who are basically straight up ignorant morons?

I'm sure this thread will have appeared at some point in the last couple of years on here but I can't find it so sorry if the info is already out there.

if you havent noticed the entire gaming community on the internet is just filled with trolls. whether they are journalists, analysts, forum posters, or youtube users.

I go there for the news, not for the discussion. I don't see what's wrong with that comment though. I would personally agree with it. Not all comments are meant to inspire deep conversations.

Oh god, everytime I click on a link in the N4G newsfeed I'm ashamed to have the same hobby as these - I can't really call most of them anything else - idiots.

For your question: No, I don't have an account there. Any reasonable comment about Nintendo or Microsoft gets MAULED there and not even all of the reasonable comments about Sony are safe. I have no time to waste on the shithole that is the comment section of N4G.

Who knows. That's part of the reason why I no longer post there. I don't see why people can't like the offerings of a particular provider (or providers) and express objective opinions towards them and the competition.

I noticed this too (as if it would be possible not to!). There's often some very constructive comments there that sometimes paint a positive and a negative of something Sony but the comment will get thumbed down regardless, even though overall it's a positive outlook.

It's absolutely mind numbing.

I'm really not going at Sony here, want to make that clear. It could just as easy be a site full of MS/Nintendo fanboys. I'm just shocked that people could be so idiotic and silly.

I only go to N4G to post facts and watch them deny it when its right in front of them cause its kinda entertaining. Dont take anything there seriously its just a place to visit once in a while to laugh at tards.

There are some sites that are like that. I go to gamefaq sometimes and the comments there are ridiculous especially concerning the wii u. Some people on there disregard every other game not coming to the wii u. One I remember was thief 4. One of the responses went something like, I don't need the game since it will be on brostation and whatever the hell the poster called the xbox. Thankfully another sensible poster pointed out that it was a stealth game. The whole site isn't too bad though.

Mention anything ps4 and you get all these pc elite posting random number specs and most, probably cant even afford what their bragging about just what they 'could' have but who cares, no point arguing with morons.
Read the comment section for a laugh dont take it to heart.
