Doesn't the 360 already play any files that are shared on the network? I'm pretty sure I've done that or streamed pictures to my TV through my Xbox or something like that.

No, certain files it cannot.  MP4s for example must be on an attached device, they cannot be streamed.

Make Skype Available

I don’t understand why there is no Skype app on the current console. Hopefully this is coming in 2013. But I don’t just want to be able to call my friends on their consoles, phones and other devices. I want you to take it up a notch and call another Xbox/PC/tablet in my own home. This would be awesome for a parent who needs to get in touch with a kid in another room to come eat dinner.

This is just sad... Really we have to skype our kids when they are in another room?

remember the good old days when people actually communicated with each face to face while standing infront of each other?

You're 22 years old.  You know nothing BananaKing21.  You know nothing.

When I was growing up, kids played outside.  You could walk anywhere, at anytime of the day, and not be afraid of anyone doing anything to you.  You could be gone for the entire day and your parents didn't worry, so long as you were home for dinner or called to say why you weren't.  You listened to your mother, because if you didn't, you would hear it from your father.

How about:

Amazing Halo 5

Awesome graphics

Ability to play used games

Ability to play offline

What's nice about this article is it's from the perspective of a non-elitist gamer.  Therefore much broader focus.

well 2 of those 360 has (well awesome graphics too for its time) so it wouldn't make any sense to take them out of the Nextbox right?...RIGHT MS!?

This is an unusual list. The author barely mentions video games which, you would think, should be the focus of a video game console.

My list would look something like this:

1) Invest in first-party studios (this seems to be happening)
2) Resurrect some forgotten IPs
3) Drop the pay wall for online multiplayer
4) Provide backward compatibility with Xbox 360 games
5) Allow consumers to play used games
6) Keep multimedia features secondary

his age doesn't reflect his personal life experiences lol.  When I grew up my parents usually let me do my own thing because we lived in a nice neighborhood and they trusted my decision making.  Every house is different doesn't matter what era we're in.

Also you could walk anywhere at any time of day?  False.  You cannot walk to Italy from America or vice versa because you would have to swim at some point!

Here is mine:

Audio chip for 9.1 DD surround sound and location based multidimensional audio

15 free hours of online play a month

more dedicated server games

psn+ features like free and discounted games, share options etc

1)  I'm not sure if it'll be 9.1 or not, but I do believe location based multi-dimensional audio will be.  There were a few patents Microsoft received to do with this, including one that included the use for wireless audio speakers.

2)  I don't think this will happen.  I believe based on a few features I've read about that the machine will now have a subscription, not the users.  Therefore as long as you have a subscription on the box, everyone who uses it benefits.

3)  I don't think there is any benefit to this.  Even on PSN, the games have moved away from server-based to peer-to-peer.  If a game has a large number of users, definitely, and Microsoft recently received a patent for the ability for people to observe the game, so this may require a dedicated server.

4)  Microsoft already offers discounts on games, both Xbox LIVE and Games on Demand games.  As for the other PS+ features, I doubt they will likely adopt them.  I do believe Microsoft will offer a rental service that includes free rental of games.  A recent patent for DRM suggests this with multi-tiered DRM.

FALSE!!!  When I was growing up, Europe and North America were connected.  How do you think Scotland got where it is?  Scotland, or at least the Highlands, were a part of North America.

Seriously, it didn't matter where you lived.  I could go anywhere within a 50 mile radious and I would be safe.  I can't say that is true today.

Again, I chose my words carefully.  You cannot stream MP4 files, they must be on an attached device such as a thumb drive or USB hard drive.
