Since the hiccups appear on Skype as well, a sound card issue could arise. And since you're using a Mac, and most probably Safari, I don't think it has anything to do with any plugin attached to it. I would blame Flash first, but Skype pretty much eliminates this...

I use Firefox and uninstalled the latest Flash and reinstalled the prior version, It fixed all issues I had.  Havent had the chance to test Skype yet, but i doubt that has been fixed.

Everyone that has a Mac and uses Skype that i know of, has been having issues lately.  I think thats just a skype issue.  Testing via Photo Booth on my Mac, video and Sound recording are working perfectly with no hiccups.  So it has nothign to do with my Video or Sound cards fortunately.
