Well that was easy.

Wow that's a great post Joe. That graph really easily answers the question.

Actually Joe and Joe, I think this picture does a better job explaining the situation.

That's a good point Joe but Google is much larger than YouTube.

Sure google is bigger Joe, but it doesn't reflect the hardcore gamer. This is much better.

Some decided to conveniently ignore this post, so I'll just give it a bump.

You guys are clearly bonkers, Fable is clearly the larger series. Why do you think Robin Williams named his daughter Fable?

Certainly, people here are losing their mind, Zelda? Zelda who?

Oh well, one more user on here to ignore from now on.

To be fair, he does gives us a hint with his username, I mean, what are we expecting from a troll master :)

Zelda let me down a bit last generation, more notably Skyward Sword, but even so Zelda is a MUCH bigger franchise.

Zelda has been around over 25 years for a reason.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I'll say this backwards.
Fable 3 was a shit game with bad direction and an infuriating system.
Fable 2 was way too easy and in no way exhibited RPG-like behavior. A rip off that at best was for casuals.
Fable 1 the only fable to exhibit promise
The Fable franchise after four games hasn't built a legacy at all. It is a hollow high budget game.

When was Fable anywhere difficult? That's not the reason to play a Fable game, because of difficulty. I don't agree with your opinion about Fable 2.

Though as much as I love the Fable franchise (yeah, even 3 which was totally mediocre) The legend of Zelda is The legend of Zelda. Nothings beat playing through the Water Dungeon as a kid.

Zelda clearly.

What's this talk about the most recent Fable game selling more than Zelda? Last time I checked, Fable: The Journey received mixed reviews and didn't even break a million copies. Yet the motion-controlled Zelda is sitting on a 92 on Metacritic and over 3.5 million copies sold...

Lold.

Hey, smartguy, explain me this little sales.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures GC 2004 Action Nintendo 0.63 0.16 0.00 0.02 0.81

Not even a 1m copies, and it is more similar to major games, than Fable: Journey.

FSA's problems are well-documented. Fable: The Journey must be a really abysmal game to sell five times worse than a game that can only be truly experienced with a GameCube, multiple GBA's, and other extraneous accessories. Or, maybe, Zelda has much stronger brand power.

1) It's ok to Zelda have < 1m sales, but very bad for Fable. Ok.
2) Name all FSA problems and tell me, why they are ok for Zelda and doesn't accepted for Fable.
3) "truly experienced with a GameCube, multiple GBA's" - Lold, all you need to enjoy this game - Gamecube and you are ready to go.
4) "and other extraneous accessories" - which one?
5) "Zelda has much stronger brand power" - sold under 1m. Ok.

Also, in my opinion Z:FSA - best Zelda game. I enjoying it the most while playing.

1. It's not good for either, given the sales history for each franchise. All I did was compare the latest games in the series, so lately, Fable is in the basement while Zelda is comparatively healthy. Why we're having this discussion is beyond me, becuase that initial comparison is 100% factual.

2. That would be pointless, because the games in question don't share all the same problems.

3. Perhaps, but based on what I've played and the impressions of many who've also played it solo, it's just not the same.

4. The GC/GBA link cables, one for each player.

5. Do I even need to bring up how poorly The Journey sold? The fact that you're holding onto this one million thing which, by the way, you took out of contect to begin with, tells me that you're desperately grabbing for any troll logic to keep you in the argument.

Zelda has branched out into a marketing level that surpasses everything except a few key franchises, this alone proves Zelda is bigger. When people start regularly rocking out Fable, hats, shirts, jackets, bedsheets, keyrings, an action figure line, and so on, we can consider this discussion again.

Zelda by a long shot, it is also a way better game.

Zelda is bigger..  If you had put a Fable game on Wii after many core gamers had shelved the system it wouldn't have come close to the sales of Skyward Sword.  Zelda sells well despite the console it's on wheras Fable requires an install base of hungry core gaming buying games in order to acheive sales success.

Try releasing a Fable game years later and competing with the 3ds numbers on OOT.
