Heavy Rain dev going multiplayer?

Quantic Dream job listing calls for programmer with "strong understanding" of multiplayer genre.

Quantic Dream is known as a developer of story-focused, single-player-only games, but the French studio could be branching out to multiplayer.

The Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Soulsdeveloper is currently seeking a lead online programmer (viaSuperannuation) with a "strong understanding" of the multiplayer genre. An ideal candidate would also have a "very deep and high knowledge" of online gaming and network development.

Quantic Dream boss David Cage said in an interview in 2010 that he would like to develop an online title sometime down the road.

"There are also many interesting changes awaiting us regarding the online space," he said at the time. "So this is something we are going to explore in the very near future."

Quantic Dream has not announced any kind of multiplayer component for Beyond: Two Souls.

Cage previously revealed that he has his next three games already planned out, one of which is an "incredibly exciting" project for thePlayStation 4. "It's one of the strongest concepts we've had at Quantic Dream and we're really excited about it," Cage said last month.

Cage also showed off a PS4 demo during the console's announcement in February. Video of the presentation is embedded

I couldn't care less for MP, either way, as long as the SP element is extremely well done and the MP isn't 'tacked on' then I am fine with it.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

Yeah I can see that happening...I can't remember where exactly but a while back there were rumors/speculation or something about a more emotion driven war experience in a shooter from them. Maybe that's the unannounced PS4 project

What an odd title.

(I know it's literally the title of the article you're reposting, it just kind of makes no sense).

oh god. i can't see this going well.

I read the title as 'multiplatform' for some reason.

I'm not sure how to feel about this. QD have proved they can make a great single player experience but unlike Uncharted and GOW, Heavy Rain for example definitely did not need multiplayer tacked on. I guess QD should have a shot at it and see how it goes, but hopefully it doesn't come at the expense of the single player experience.

The title confused me into thinking maybe they meant multiplatform, but no ,they actually meant multiplayer.

I'm always skeptic of Quantic Dreams' games. As much as I liked Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain, it's not going to be certain whether I like their next game. I'm currently not interested in Beyond Two Souls after seeing gameplay because it really doesn't look good, but I'll eventually end up playing it. I really can't think of them doing a good multiplayer title, but like their other titles, I'd have to play it.

This can be nothing but a good thing. Knowing what David Cage is in to it's obvious that this won't be "tacked on" multiplayer. I'd expect something like Journey or Watchdogs where multiplayer and single player are one in the same.

Read multyplatorm here as well.

I'm not a multyplayer guy but if he can bring us a diferent take on multiplayer i guess it's worth a try....

Hopefully it's for a new game and isn't an Assassin's Creed type tack-on.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.
