I would like to thank Nintendo today. I sold my stock I bought in February netting a $300 profit on principle. I consider a 20% gain on two month investment as good deal.

Congrats. Plus you get a dividend ;)

I didn't think Nintendo was giving a dividend this year since their #'s weren't good. I thought that was announced at the last shareholders meeting.

BTW I have put in $24,000 over the course of the last year ranging from 12.44 to 18.81 and everything in-between. Today's jump was very nice. I'm only around $500 in the hole now. I really wish I would have waited until it hit rock bottom at around $12/share and bought everything then, but at the time I thought $18 was rock bottom. Oh well, I still am confident I can make a good $5,000 to $10,000 return by summer 2014 sometime. The price would only have to get to around $19/share for my investment to reach $30,000. That would be a $6,000 profit. I would be happy with that over the course of 2 years. It would allow me to pay off my house. I'm silently hoping it will get up to around $25/share by then. I think it can get there once Mario, Mario Kart, and who knows what other heavy hitters come out for the WiiU later this year. Plus Nintendo's profit margin's on each system sold will only get better from here on out and the weak yen is looking great. I think even with a small price drop this holiday season on the Wii U and 3DS Nintendo will still be getting a good profit on the 3DS, and they will start making money on each WiiU sold around that time or maybe early 2014. Plus new Pokemon and Monster Hunter 4 = huge sales for 3DS hardware and software. Anyone else think it can get to the mid 20's by the middle of next year?

I would expect at least $24 by Christmas this year.  It is quite possible that Nintendo's products could have a massive 2013, and with the weak yen they should be making money on every piece of hardware.  Billion dollar profits are quite possible.

I'm more interested in knowing the digital sales. Giving the software supply issues Nintendo's having lately this numbers will be interesting to see.

What kind of dividend should I expect this year? I have 1575 shares.

What about next year if Nintendo does meet their  1 Billion profit. What would you think the dividend might be with those kind of #'s?

There are listings of past dividends online and they are quite large.  During peak Wii years  Nintendo paid out a lot in dividends.  The 100 yen payout is just a token to keep owners happy.  It's pennies compared to what they usually pay out.

Good job!

This is what happens when you let your home console sit in a drought for 90% of a quarter Nintendo, take note.

I hope they suffer a loss; they sorely need a kick in the arse to get them off said arses and actually trying on the Wii U front.

I can only agree with this statement.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Yeah, I just looked back at past ones. In the late 2000's it was like 1200-1400 yen per share. Crazy stuff. I doubt it'll get that high anytime soon. But it would be nice if they did pretty good this year it would get to around 400-500 yen per share.

Yep we already talked about this. Only reason I can think is that Miyamoto said yesterday that he might work until he dies. LOL

Or could be that USD to Yen is at almost 100 to 1.

Surely it's not shareholders anticipating a good q4 report.

I just made 150$ on Nintendo stock. What should I do? Sell? Wait?

Yup we do get a dividend of 100 yen per share - NTDOY is 1 of 8

Nintendo should do good numbers this year. Their software line-up for 3DS is impressive to say the least. If Nintendo is able to revitalize the Wii U, maintain 3DS strong momemtum, and the yen to their advantage, I would envision Nintendo to be at 20$ by year-end. I ain't selling yet. I got 10k in them and believe they will be able to achieve the 1 Billion Yen profit.

Wait, I have 100 shares as well, got then last month, made 150....are you saying I will get another 100 on top of that???
