Forums - PC - Help with PC graphics card

a while ago i made a thread and in it a asked a few questions about my graphics card. now i noticed i have a problem with it since when i was playing tomb raider i barely made the game even run and now i figured out why, it turns out that my GTX 660 isnt attatched to my display, what this exactly means im not sure off, but what i am sure off is that my pc is using my intel HD graphics instead of my GTX660. can anyone help me with this?

ohh and yes i am somewhat of a PC noob so feel free to laught at me

Not to sound silly but have you plugged in the video cable into the right port (DVI/VGA/Display port) from your GTX660 and not your motherboard. If that isn't the issue, go into your Bios [Press F1 or F2 and on bootup] and disable the internal graphics card.

im the one who is gonna sound silly because i dont know shit about managing PC's so dont worry

i have the PC connected to the screen with and HDMI. and cant i just disable the internal graphics card from the drivers menu? though i was afraid of doing that and it wouldnt connect the 660 right away if that does make any sense

Note sure mate.. have a look at this video. Its pretty easy to do

When you start your PC keep pressing F1, F2 (or F10) like what the guy says to get to the BIOS screen and follow those instructions. You want your PCI-E card to be your primary.

Yes you can. In the drivers menu, do you see both the internal graphics and your GTX660? If so, you can disable the internal one and that should do it. I upgraded my Gateway that has internal graphics with an Sapphire HD Radeon 7770 1GB a few months ago, and that's all I had to do.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

I have my monitor connected directly into the graphics card. From what I've read it will only use the intel graphics if you plug it directly into the motherboard. Don't know if that's true, but it doesn't matter cause it works the way I have it.
