In an interview with Nikkei’s Trendy Net, Level-5′s CEO Akihiro Hino said they are working on a PlayStation 4 game. The unnamed title is still in a planning phase, but Level-5 might be able to announce it soon.

This past generation Level-5 primarily focused their efforts on portables with the Professor Layton, Inazuma Eleven, and Little Battlers eXperience series. Altogether, Level-5 released three PlayStation 3 games like Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and the White Knight Chronicles series.

Hino said for the PS4 and next generation of hardware figuring out how to use network functionality is paramount.

I'm glad. I hope we see more of Level 5 on home consoles this generation. I hear Ni No Kuni was great; but WKC 1 & 2 were pretty lacking compared to their PS2 efforts.

Looking at a quick games list of theirs, they literally went all out milking handheld franchises last gen :|

Dark Cloud 3 incoming

Besides pokemon,ni no kuni was the first jrpg I've ever played and was the first game this gen where I felt I underpaid for a game. I really hope level 5 makes a ps4 game similar to ni no kuni.
