Well, there are groups of people who hate her and then groups of people who just love her.
Here's some stuff she did, privatised most of our assets. Before 1979, 20% of our economy was nationalised
She deregualted the banks in 1986, hugely benefiting London but no where else.
She weakened the unions and destroyed some of our industries (mining, steel etc.). eg Miners Strike 1984-1985, destroying numerous communities. Many of which only did mining. Manufacturing capacity halved as a result.
Introduced the very unfair poll tax, a flat rate of tax for housing. It was bad because a council house tenant paid the same tax amount as a billionaire did (so the rich paid fuck all). It lead to a huge strike in Trafalgar Square (london) in 1990, which lead to her resignation.
She let people buy their council houses and flats and put them on the market
She defeated Argentina in 1982, so we kept the Falkland Islands
VAT (basically a sales tax) doubled under here from 8% to 17.5%
Unemployment was very high, 12% at it's peak, 7% when she left. Inequality is far wider today as a result, as poverty increased and pay didn't go up fast enough with inflation.
Inflation was also very high, up to 20% at times. Inflation was often above 10% for much of the time, hitting the poor hardest
Interest rates were very high, between 10% and 15%. Today, it is only 0.5%!
These policies and their impacts would have benefitted some people which is why they love her, but others like the working class would have been hugely disadvantaged which is why their hate her so much.
