I agree with that video. Although he says that it doesn't really have anything to do with lack of a skill based ranking system and then goes on to say a main reason is there is no competition (which goes hand in hand with a skill based ranking system).

I also agree that if they added a skill based ranking system that you could see and was just like Halo 3, Halo 4 would not increase very much but that is simply because people are already over Halo 4. If they would have added the skill ranking system in from launch I think things would be quite different.

 

Also why is everyone getting so uppity at the word flop? In this specific case, Halo 4 MP is a flop. When you compare it as a general game to other games it isn't a flop. But when you compare it to other Halo's; it is a flop (or at least very close to one).

Oh for pity sake.  Halo MP is dead?  Seriously having a laugh now aren't you.

Compared to others games Halo 4 MP is a success but compared to Halo 2/3 it seems dead.

Sorry I didn't understand.

Even you knows I like Halo franchise and always said good things about it... I loved the Halo 3 and it is in my top list here in VGC (I already put it in my TOP10 games this gen).

And I think Halo 4 MP is a stepback in Halo franchise... and the facts are in my side because the player activity in Halo 4 MP is like a common game... no near the old Halos player activity.

LOL. You make me laugh. Some pro guy wants it to be more competitive and says it's dead, yet the game is in the top 5 most played games? You are hilarious. He's an elite player who wants a Skill ranted competition mode. Guess what, it's coming out tomorrow in the Halo 4 Title Update 4.0 along with other balance enhancements. It's going to be a 50 level skill system just like Halo 3 just like the guy in the video wants.

I don't know why 343i didn't prioritize a 50 Skill rank system on launch, but it probably had something to do with guys like in your video are the elite minority while most people just play for fun and don't train to be the best.

Honestly, the the same people complain about every new Halo. They always say that it's not as good as their favorite. What made their favorite so good? They have fond memories of pwnage. A new Halo comes out with better balance, new enhancements and levels the playfield, but they complain because it's new and different and they just want it to be the same forever.

The guy in the video is getting his 50 Skill Rank competitive mode tomorrow, but it won't make the game shoot up four spots to number 1 on the XBL charts, because guys like him are the minority.

Halo 4 really is the best Halo. Minecraft is a huge fad, Soccer is the world's favorite sport, and COD is just as good as Halo while appealing to more than Sci-Fi fans. Halo isn't dead. 5th place with the level of competition in the market today is nothing to scoff at.

What doubts are there to have? There are significantly less people playing and some playlists are completely empty. You were so desperate to prove Halo 3 is more active than Halo 4 but you failed.

Either way, Halo 3 probably was more active in its prime, it had less competition. I mean CoD, BF, and Gears have grown tremendously since the launch of Halo 3. Then you got a hundred other games with online activity. No big deal, Halo is still doing more than fine.

That's the point, the other games grew but Halo didn't.

That's the point, the other games grew but Halo didn't. 

Halo is still bigger than all the games mentioned on 360 except CoD.

Just putting a negative spin on great success.

There is still at least 140,000 players at any one time on MW3 these days.

I still play MW3 a few hours everyday on X360 even though I have BO2. I prefer the multiplayer in MW3 so much more. So do most of my friends.
