WTF? Chill. It doesn't matter who made the thread. I didn't release this activity chart Microsoft did. I'm sorry if it paints your holy Halo 4 in a bad light.

Once again, bullshit. You saw these numbers and decided to put a negative spin on them.

It's not a spin, Halo 4's active online playerbase is very low. Take a look here http://halocharts.com/2012/chart/dailypeakpopulation/all
How in the hell can you call a game with 8million sales and only 30-45k daily players, not a flop?

Haha! Oh boy, you fail again.

That isn't daily players, its the peak of the day. Even right now there is almost 30K people playing. I know that because I actually own the game.

Hence, unless its the same people playing 24 hours, there are probably a few hundred thousand people playing a day. Oh boy, what a flop.

I know that. Of course I dont' expect the same people to be playing 24/7. That peak is very very low though considering the sales.

If anyone owns both Halo 4 and Mw3, feel free to boot both games up and screencap the current online players.

Wow genuinely surprised that it's lower than MW3 and Fifa.

All we really know is which game has more activity.

Well Halo 3 always have more activity than Halo 4 even after three years on the market... no comparison here.

Halo 4, as with Halo Reach, has nothing to keep a player addicted. The armor and gun unlocks are boring and pointless. For me, I played hundreds of games in Halo 2 & 3 because they had skill ranks. Each game felt important because not only did I want to rank up, but I also didn't want my rank to go down. My heart would honestly start pumping during really close games. I would also get excited when I saw people ranked higher than me because I felt like I really wanted to beat them. 343i really needs to bring skilled ranks back. That would make me play Halo multiplayer again and I'm sure many other people would agree.

Yep exactly! I have played 1000's of games of Halo 2 and Halo 3. Halo was unique and amazing when it was competitive. They have taken out all aspects of competitive multiplayer now with Reach and 4. I used to spend countless hours trying to get a 50 in every playlist (only managed 3 50's). Then with Halo 4 they took out weapon spawns and powerups. That was a massive part of the game, and took a ton of strategy setting your team up for the next sniper, rocket, camo, or over-shield. Then they made Halo like Cod with "kill streaks" except everyones kill streaks were different, while you get a rocket launcher, I get a needler. Halo was once very unique, and if they remake Halo 2 I'll be back on board. Until then I will only buy Halo used now when it's in the bargain bin.

Halo 4 multiplayer isnt a flop its just that most COD addicts get raped when playing halo its a skill based game . im sure BO 2 would be top on PS3 that wouldnt mean Killzone was a flop

Killzone is a flop though. The franchise was never huge to begin with so its always had a small but dedicated community.

Halo 4 is a stepback? It has nothing but improvements over its already tried and proven (to be fun and addicting) multiplayer engine; with the addition of ordinances, and the new abilities, it's a NEW Halo, it's different, yes. But it's still an overall better and improved game than Reach, and a fantastic successor to Halo 3.

Well what I see the Halo 3 / Halo 2 have a better MP... so if the successor don't have a better MP then the MP of Halo 4 is a stepback.

I think GoW: A is a stepback in SP too but a move foward in MP (of couser it is the first with MP lol).

What was better in Halo 2/3? The typical person who still clings to Halo 2 played it in their younger years, was more vulnerable to the enjoyment of basic gameplay just because they played it with friends as oppose to not being able to playing with that same crowd that enjoyed it as much today (because they majority of the "crowd" of FPS players moved onto CoD), and enjoyed it for XBR. Halo 3, I grew up on,  yes it had fantastic multiplayer, but the only thing that Halo 3 has over Halo 4 is the maps. Halo 3 maps was superior to any other Halo game. Besides that, the actually gunplay and abilities of Halo 4 are just improvements, thus naturally superior.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

Mmmhmmm... thank you for no proof to back your argument.

It seems people are getting tired of the franchise getting milked. I remember Halo 3 was in the top 3 for a very long time. It even got back on top a couple of weeks after MW3 was released.

That's an absurd statment considering that CoD is milked far more than Halo and yet has so many more people playing the multiplayer (plus Halo 4 has been selling very well and will outsell Reach at least). Halo 4 MP may be a flop but it's definitely not because of "milking".

It really boils down to a few things.

1. No skill ranked playlists: This was by far the most requested thing with Halo 4 but 343 decided to sit with their thumbs up their arses and not include it. And their pathetic half-assed attempt of implementing it this month is useless since you can't even see your rank unless you go to Halo Waypoint. A skill based ranking system is what made Halo 3 and is why people kept coming back in droves years after it's release.

2. Halo 4 glitches: Halo 4 is probably the worst Halo when it comes to glitches, people cheating and general bad network design choices. 343 really screwed things up with their terrible lag compensation system and couple that with rampant cheating and you have a lot of people who get turned off by that and won't play because of it.

3. CoD is "it": Call of Duty is obviously far more popular so when people play MP games together their choice will almost always be Cod because that's what their friends will be playing.

People are obviously willing to try Halo MP games still because most people have a soft spot in their heart for it (you can see this because both Halo 4 and Reach had fantastic starts for MP population) but both the last Halo games have had so many issues that people are really getting turned off by it. If they don't get Halo 5 right, the Halo franchise may be in for some rough times (in comparison to how well it usually sells)

Personally despite all of these negatives I still love Halo 4 MP. I have the most fun with it out of any MP game I've ever played. But I can see why so many hate it.

Fun fact: Halo 3 had a higher daily peak poplulation 3 years after it's release (even though MW2 was out) than Halo 4 has right now, less than a 5 months after it's release. In fact even a couple months after Halo: Reach was released, Halo 3 still had about the same amount of people online as Halo 4 has right now.

It's quite sad to see my favorite MP game fall so far.

Haven't played Halo 4 that much, only at my friends house but nothing will top Halo 3 for me it was perfect.

It's the best Halo multiplayer of all time and it's in the top 5 XBLA games. It's the 3rd most popular online shooter 6 months after release. COD is a phenomenon so it beating Halo 4 doesn't mean Halo 4 is a flop it just means that COD is THAT BIG. COD is just as good as Halo and if more people are playing COD that just tells me that more people like modern combat than Sci-Fi. I like both and prefer Sci-Fi, but it's just a matter of taste. Both are top of their class shooters. The only people that don't like Halo 4's multiplayer are the ones that still wish they could exploit Halo 2's broken gameplay to pwn newbs. Those of us that enjoy refinement can't get enough of Halo 4.

Referring to anything related to Halo 4 as a flop is a hilarious overstatement.
