just go to google and type in something like "square cut content from final fantasy 13" or something

there will be multiple links

Did it. Didn't find any quotes from anyone at Square saying the 360 limited game content. Everything mentioning cut content doesn't say it was for the port.

I remember reading an article about a 3D asset artist working for Square on FF13. She said she worked for months on a 3D model of a rock. It wans't that it was difficult or it needed to be just right for a really special scene. It was just a random rock, but nobody check in on her and she had nothing else to do but work ont he rock.

Stories like that tell me that Square lost focus and had too many people working on too many things. Of course unfinished junk is going to get cut from a game when you have too many cooks in the kitchen and the head chef doesn't even know what's for dinner.

Supposedly the cut content wasn't "junk"

i also remember square stressing about getting ff13 on specifically 3 discs for 360. That's what they kept "aiming" for.

Edit: i couldn't find a link for the specific article i read on it but here is this http://www.vg247.com/2010/02/02/confirmed-ffxiii-360-to-ship-on-3-dvds/

That link does nothing to back up your claim, though.

You are correct that a game's worth of content was cut, but the 360 was never blamed for it:

http://www.siliconera.com/2010/01/13/noras-secret-base-and-lightnings-home-cut-from-final-fantasy-xiii/

oh i remember this

i was going to mention that but i couldn't think of the names

these were supposedly some examples of what was cut from FF13

and the link i provided DOES back my claim wtf lol

Neither link says "Square Enix cut content from FF13 because of the Xbox 360". So no, it doesn't. In fact, the link I posted specifically mentions why the content was removed, and it WASN'T because of the 360.

we can hope that this is true but it is what it is

and of course they didn't just flat out say "it was because of the 360" lol XD

they wouldn't have stressed so much about fitting it on specifically 3 dvds if that was the case. they had to trim that bad boy down

but whatever

No, they didn't. You are just making assumptions to fit your world view. It wouldn't be all that out there for them to say that they cut content from the PS3 version to "synchronize both versions" or some other nonsense. It also would not have been that out there to simply call it PS3 exclusive content, which they could have done if 360 was the reason the content was cut.

But it wasn't. There is no evidence for it, and that's the end of the story.

the blu ray discs have more space and Square was using it but then butchered it to fit 3 dvd9's(360 discs)

we really don't know when they started working on the 360 version. It's obvious that it was before the E3 2008 reveal though or atleast had it in mind.

and the content that was cut is something that we will never know. We will never know what the REAL ff13 was going to be like

I think they made a crappy game and when they were found out they tried to shift the blame to 360

i guess i can understand why you think this since FF14 came out and was pretty much garbage lol but we still didn't get the full FF13 experience that we were supposed to get.

but like i said before, what's done is done

Why would they have to butcher it to make it to make it fit on DVDs? If they were making some game with a massive open world that doesn't recycle textures I'd probably understand. But for a game that was likely going to be a FMV riddled, linear RPG, I doubt much actually changed for the 360.

Content is often cut before a game is released. Games sometimes change entirely. Its silly just to blame that on DVDs. Especially since not a single game has been created for the PS3 that shows Bluray was essential.

It obviously wouldn't have been as linear if they didn't trim the game down. Nothing changed for the 360, it changed for the ps3. it was eventually butchered on the ps3 with 3 dvd9's in mind and then brought over

and Final Fantasy 13 was THE game that was going to show that Bluray was essential

It obviously wouldn't have been as linear? Based on what?

Most PS3 exclusives are linear. MGS4 is the most linear game of the series. What proof do you have that shows FFXIII was going to be an exception?

You have kind of gone off the rails here. With all due respect you have nothing to back up your claims.

People bought both systems this generation. So its technically the same demographic buying those games, but instead of them only owning one platform; in most of your cases the PS2, they own a 360 and PS3.

Why trim it down? Why not use 4 DVDs like Lost Odyssey?

This is the same question i asked myself

I thought about Lost Odyssey because it had 4 discs. I never really understood why Square stressed getting it on 3 discs

Safe bet they put everything they wanted in those three discs.

One last point. As I mentioned MGS4 was a linear game but a PS3 exclusive. I bet if that game launched on 360 as well you would have blamed the 360. But since that didn't happen, you just accept Kojima made a linear game. Yet you refuse to believe FFXIII was going to be linear regardless. No game has ever showed Bluray was necessary on PS3 but FFXIII was somehow the exception. Funny how that works.

It's well known that MS charges publishers extra for more discs. That's why they wanted it on as few discs as possible. You just keep assuming the worst and filling in blanks that aren't there.

I didn't know about them charging extra for extra discs

and nah it seems more like you can't handle the truth or something

you are just ingoring or pushing away everything YOU think is worse/bad. That is pretty much the only thing you've been doing this whole time..

I understand that you like M$ but it is what it is man

MGS4 isn't Final Fantasy though. Hideo knew from jump what the PS3 had in it and he made his game.
