The first X720 in early 2012 have a dual-gpu inside... that was a prototipe... the final specs leaked in early 2013 are the true specs based in the latest devkit... there are no more time for changes.

 

 

 



 

Lets assume that this prototype is the actual console, where would that take us?

Well this is techniacally a devkit too, when you start a new project you often focus on 2-3 prototypes and drop the 2 late in the game so that you have a backup plan if needed and that is why I'm securing a March 2014 release because I actually think MS may have it in them to release the console 5months later for better performance - All this is based on your points(no change unless you want to put it out later)

Well, the 360 was release one year prior to the PS3 and cheaper, however few games have shown that the PS3 was any better.

Not likely, they would have talked about the new PSeye at the PS4 reveal if it did, as it would be a major feature.

So? does that confirm the DS4 won't work without the Camera as he says? Does that confirm the Camera is packed-in with every console? they didn't talk at length at all, they barely said like 2 sentences and showed a picture.

No, but that was not the point. Your point was that Kinect will increase the costs of the next Xbox, but PSEye will do the same.

lol @ dude reaching for the Nextbox to have something more powerful than a 7970. Something more powerful than a $400 GPU that consumes a ton of energy and space. They're gonna somehow put a more powerful GPU in a console, and sell it for $400 - $500. They also have to account for the new Kinect, controllers, processor, RAM, Mobo, and etc. and yet their Video Card will be around, if not more than $250 - $300 after discounts.

Anyway Eurogamer confirmed the leaks like every other site.


All the sites you mentioned confirmed the leaks as legit and they also reference VGleaks article.  My question still stands.  If VGleaks are using diagrams that are representive of a 7970 CU array.  If VGleaks is stating that a SIMD does 64 threads per CPU cycle which is what a CU does not SIMD then how can I or anyone else take the value of the site and their interpretation of the data as accurate when their description is wrong.  This is not just a small trival mistake, its quite big because it totally throws out their 1.2 TFlop number.

I am not stating that Durango GPU isn't 1.2 TFlops and vgleaks just make some big mistake in their description of the hardware.  What I am stating is that everyone is using VGleaks as a source, they are claiming this info is correct and it appears to come from the same leaker.  If the data is incorrect, it thows out everything and the data must be either reavaluated or not used at all.

The NeoGAF created a thread... and the guy edited the post with that:
