I think that the PS4 and "Nextbox" will probably have similar specs, and despite one console possibly having slightly higher technical specifications, the majority of developers are likely going to be making games for each console. As someone who is still unsure of which console I will support in the beginning between Microsoft and Sony, my biggest concerns will be failure rates (I've gone through three 360s and two PS3s), subscription models, and software libraries between the two consoles.

Eventually, however, I would like to have all three major home consoles, just like I've done with the previous generation.

My god are you serious man? Come on you're being just as cocky as I thought you would be, just because Edge and VGLeaks were right before doesn't automatically make them "the gods of RUMORS".

Your comments make it damn sure that you somehow in an awkward way know that these rumors are true. Get a grip again because you sure as hell don't understand that these are rumors by the looks of it.

BTW if late 2011 and early 2012 is too late for a product purposely coming out in november 2012 then you my friend really don't know what you can pull off in that time. Lets just assume that the leaks are of a dev-kit that was scrapped back in late11/early12 in favor of a more powerful version that we don't know about. All this would invalidate the previous Edge and VGLeaks leaks.

I'm not saying that these rumors may not be true because there is achance they may be, but I don't go around rubbing it into everyone that these are confirmed specs.

But then again if VGLeaks say something that may not be good for Sony it's just a rumor but apply that on MS and it's simply known fact, you guys are seriously funny(see quote under)

some people are forgetting that the next box has already lost two advantages the 360 had: mutliplat performance and online chat. that's why a simultaneous release would not be in MS's favor.

So I am going to post this again because I am interested in know if vgleaks could be mistaken on their assessment of Durango arch.  I have done a lot of research and 2 things come to mind.  Either VGleaks totally blundered on the Durango specs or they are using the wrong diagrams to prove their point.  Either way, it invalidates their statements and put into question if they know what they are trying to explain to the rest of us

OK, I am quoting my own post because I wanted to make clear why it seems that vgleaks is confused about what they are saying concerning the Durango SC Unit.  What could be happening here is that their diagram has the wrong terms or names which makes a big difference in how you view this content.

If you change the SIMD to CU then you start to understand why this could be a blunder by vgleaks.

Now here is where it gets interesting.  This is the breakdown of the 7970 AMD card, does the diagram look very familiar

Could it be that the SC or shader cores on the Durango are an array of 4 CUs instead of 4 SIMD.  If so, then the Durango has 48 Cu instead of 12.  Could the Durango actually have a 7970 (actually a little better as the 7970 only has 32 CU).

TDP of a 7970 is around 200W. You want a chip in your NextBox that has a TDP >250Watt?

The Nextbox GPU is a 12 CUs, 48 SIMDs, 768SPs, 48 TMUs, , 800Mhz, 1.23 TFLOPS.

I don't know the ROPs because this unit is variable in the GCN Architecture but I guess 16, 24 or 32 ROPs.

Why? The rumors was already proved right... the Durango Devkit that leaked the rumors are not a year old... there are mid/late 2012 devkit, no huge change will be made to release the console in 2013.

So why did you so desesperate to prove the rumors are wrong? Even when a lot of sources already confirmed they are right.
