According to Variety Dragon Ball Z: Kami to Kami (roughly ''God and God'') or ''Battle of the Gods'' was this week's number 5 movie around the world (excluding the U.S.) grossing $7 million on aprox. 350 screens in its first weekend in Japan, almost half (47%) of what Japan's(market) most succesful movie of 2012, ''One Piece Film: Z'' wich ultimately made around $60+ million, did in its fisrt weekend ( $16 million).

This only means good news for Dragon Ball and anime fans around the world!! hopefully the succes of these(kind) movies in Japan means that more sooner than later we'll be able to enjoy  them in our local movie theather! Just hoping, i know all that a worldwide release would carry... but my hopes are still alive!

Ah I miss Dragonball :(

I'd like to go and see it in theaters here in the US.  I'd bring a band of my friends, we'd all get blown before, top quality, get drinks and popcorn, the whole nine yards.  This is a DBZ movie, there may not be on for another 16 years.  For one day, my nostalgia meter will be at max. 

I can't wait.

I know it would be good, this was many people's childhood, would be good just for the feeling of it, going there and buy a ticket to se THIS... whoa.

DBZ is dead, im a huge fan and i dont care about this...now, give me the original 13 OVAs adapted to big screens and HD and stuff, and ill be there day one.

I expected as much, but it sure is nice to get confirmation...

Hopefully the movie lives up to its name. I still love most of the old ones. And I'm being reminded yet again that I have to watch the few ones I'm missing...
