Actually, it was in PS3 too, but on PS4 it's feature by defualt - devs don't need to do anything, it is suppoerted in hardware, so any game can be streamed this way to Vita (this is more like local cloud), unlike WiiU where Off-TV Play is not supported for all games.

If Sony is clever, they would release gaming tablets/tablet attachments just for this, or even let other manufacturers support Remote Play too on their qualified tablets. (effectivley making tablets like WikiPad  replace Vita)

I believe MS will probably do similar thing with their SmartGlass.

oh yes..psp remoteplay was a response to that for sure! You are absolutely right :) It's pretty much the same thing too

 

@Bananaking: I don't mind the actual analysis of how well the feature is implimented. For example as a pro point I would say Vita will have all non eyetoy etc games ready for remoteplay on PS4. Hopefully they will nail the functionality of it in the final product. I just find it amusing people think this is a feature sony doing in response to the wiiu when they have pushed in the previous handheld as well..sadly it wasn't powerful/capable enough to give a smooth experience

I don't see a problem at all right now, it is way too early.
Sometimes I play GoW collection via Remote Play and it is boderline flawless in terms of frame rate.

Actually the GBA - Gamecube was a better experience cause two different things could be displayed on either screen at the same time rather than one screen being replaced with the handheld screen. Wii U gamepad was an upgrade of GBA - Gamecube connectivity where you can get different fields of view on either screen. Thanks for reminding me.

oh and I saw a translation of an interview Cerny did on the creation of the PS4, which was in Japanese. Maybe I should make a thread on it..it's a good read
