Thanks for that. I can't tell you how much of a struggle being a Nintendo Fan was back in the... oh, wait, that's everyday.

Unreal engine 4 can scale down to phones. Try again. |
Whilst they've made that claim I doubt it'll be particularly feature rich, much like UE3 on phones. It's not like you see many multiplats made using UE3 for PC, consoles and phones.
OT: What I'm getting from this (other than Mark Rein being... well, Mark Rein) is that porting down UE4 for the WiiU would result in a significant loss of effects and features to the point where a developer may as well use UE3 as it's already working well for the hardware (and developers are already experienced with it). Using (and updating) UE3 just makes more sense than porting down UE4.

You're not answering my question. |
actually SC2 sold BEST on PS2, not GC, speaking of which just about every multiplat game released between PS2/xbox/GC sold better on PS2. same for PS/N64, so that should answer your question
Honestly this console cycle was entirely too long. People got extremely bored and Ninty made a pretty huge mistake releasing comparable hardware to last gen so late.
I cant believe I'm about to say this but Pachter was 100% right. Wii HD should have launched 2 years ago. Now we have the Wii U using tech people have become increasingly bored with and none of the 3rd parties want to pour money into down scaling their engines. The industry has moved on and I dont think Nintendo can get away with a grossly underpowered console again with whatever comes after Wii U.
So if the UE4 is only going to be for the PS4/Nextbox, where are the companies going to make money early-gen, especially if the adoption rate of the new consoles is slow out the gate like the WiiU?
Are the budgets for games going to be less? Are games going to be shorter? Or are they just banking on gangbuster sales out the gate for the new consoles.
We will have to see how this plays out, but it seems a little like they are putting the cart before the horse.
Isn't this old news? Why is everyone acting like they're blown away by this revelation? We knew this before the console even launched.

I'm beginning to hope the games industry crashes with their attitude towards nintendo. If karma is indeed a real thing, you better believe it will.

Probably a good thing the engine doesn't go to the Wii U, Unreal Engine 3 is so long in the tooth, used by so many games and is downright ugly graphically and didn't *really* support PC centric features... I just hope it's not so dominate this time around for my own sanity sake.

If i'd be on Nintendo place, i'll just give some money to a small developer and ask them to make a small cheap UE4 game for eShop... As a proof of concept and for some lulz...
Mr Khan, what fanbase? Isn't it entrusted with supporting Nintendo through purchase?
