I'm sorry, i can't resist hoping back here and pointing out how wrong the OP was. The latest hardware numbers prove the point.

Confirmed as a hater? Yup.

Won't speak to the intent of the OP, but I don't think games alone aren't going to budge the Wii U from a consistent 30,000. We'll see a blip, maybe 2 weeks, maybe 3, and then we'll be back where we were.

Well, that might be unfair. We could see an increase, but probably something on the order of 10-20%. Which wouldn't be much help.

Not trying to start an argument, but...I wouldn't count your chickens before they hatch. That's all I'm saying.

That is a well formed counterpoint.  And if that would have been the OP's argument, I wouldn't have seen him as so much of a troll.  I believe that an increase of frequency of release of good software would help WiiU start moving some serious hardware, but if and when that software comes out, that is up in the air.  Really, Nintendo needs to kill E3, they need to have 4 or 5 KILLER AAA titles ready to go on the show floor with 10 to 15 coming in the pipeline, or the game is pretty much over before it began.

Wii U isn't dead, or necessarily on life support yet, but it has a bad head cold, and if Ninty doesn't start feeding it Chicken Soup, its going to blossom into full blown AIDS.   I hope that they crush E3 (or just do their own thing, but you get my drift) because I want some more damn games for my Wii U.

Around the Network

SW is actually the only thing that moves hardware..funny..

I can only agree. Sadly, the system isn't in a good place right now. 3rd parties have more or less cut them adrift, and it's only going to get worse. Without something to act as filler for the months they don't have big releases, the release calendar is going  to be pretty bare. If anything will make it's condition worse, it's appearing to have no games moving forward.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

Despite all thats been said, it still is a great console and I really do want one, if anything it has built in backwards comparability which gives players the option of playing those awesome Wii games.

I'm not being hateful, but I do hope that the console dosen't sell that well so Nintendo give us a price crash. I will defo get this console if that happens.

However we could be wrong, we don't know what measure of success Nintendo is using. The Gamecube and the Nintendo 64 were not as successful as their respective competitors, but both did deliver on a financial and critical levels.

Wii U is an awesome system. I love mine, but because of the dearth of games (until Lego City and Monster Hunter 3U) I have used mine for a media device for a while now. I mean, don't get me wrong, it is my favorite device to Netflix as I can control my TV, Cable Box, and Netflix with the GamePad, but its sad that I don't have the games to keep me occupied. Hope Ninty's software turns it around, can't wait for Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Mario Kart, and FINGERS CROSSED, Star Fox and F-Zero.
