Forums - Sony - Playstation Home has over 31 million active user's world wide!!

Assuming it does make money, I hope they improve for PS4. I can barely remember it now, but I wasn't impressed with the presentation, the loading times or even the amount of space.

Around the Network

1. The article never says active.
2. Active could mean "logged on once in a year".
3. No way there are 31 million active users. That means more than 1/3 of PS3 owners are using the service. Nope.

Lies!!!

I Acidently clicked on it once and felt immediately sick. Why does it still exist?

because it has 31 million fucking users

What does that even mean??? How do they make money from it???

I'm technically a registered home user, but the only time I've opened up in recent years has been by mistake. Seriously though, I have a ton of friends who have PS3's and none of them use home, most don't even know what it is. This definitely is some sort of media spin, I don't what they define as an active user so... In reality its probably under 10m.

its 31 Million, accept that. they didnt say all users, they said active ones. meaning the ones you use it. they make money through microtransitions, they also market and advertise games on it, so it might bring them money from developers who want their game advertised.

As you can see right there the same Question was asked about home even then:

do people play those games? Do people explore those unique spaces? How many of those 14 million are actual active users?

we can even rephrase that very question today.

"do people play those games? Do people explore those unique spaces? How many of those 31 million are actual active users?"

Now that was 2010 and here in 2013 they say over 31 million, that very same Question was asked in 2010

How many of those 14 million are actual active users?

Do you really think " This definitely is some sort of media spin, I don't what they define as an active user so... In reality its probably under 10m."

Why would they have to spin this? If content is added every single week for year's straight, do you think if the number's were not active that they would not be adding as much as they do?

As someone said, if it wasn't profitable Sony would have shut it down months or years ago.

They make money with the microtransations... believe me, i saw a lot of people with every kind of shit that they could buy xD

Also you and your friends don't represent the whole Playstation user base. ;)

Home can be an absolute blast. I've had a lot of fun in it over the years.

I would say : do not be so sure

the very point's you made were made back in 2010, and it was 14 million than, so do you really think there was no active user growth?

jack stated active user time of playstation Home use is 70 min's a day! there is the fact that A) they know who uses the service because of playstation home DLC and time for logging into Home.

Nope! that is almost half the PS3 userbase, sorry I refuse to believe that. You can believe it if you want, but I've already concluded this is some sort of PR Spin. Clearly the term a"active" user is being abused.
