Forums - Sales - 6 Million Wii's sold in Europe plus more Nintendo Europe Stats

I'm don't think this includes Austrailia as they usually report seperately as a unit. It probably doesn't include some countries that fall under 'other' as well. Also, the listed numbers are probably 2007 year end figures, so adjust accordingly.

yea looks like vgchartz is very close. I wish we had more info on what goes into others, there are many countries outside of NA, europe, and Japan that must get lumped into others obviously australia and New Zealand being a couple. The sellthrough in Europe alone has to be over 6 million by now.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

well done DS, nice to know there are so many of the little hand held out there. well done wii too. Nintendo's accountants must feel like everyday is Christmas

It says as of January, so I woulnd't assume end of December.

Also, those are Nintendo sales through estimates. If nintendo is estimating 100% sell through then they're just reporting shipped, or maybe their estimating 95% sell through, either way we don't really know. Unless Gfk numbers are released theirs nothing really backing these numbers up.

Isn't 6 million how much the SNES sold? NES, here we come!

Around the Network

NES and SNES did about 8.5 million each according to the shipment figues here.

However it has already passed GameCube (4.76) and is not far behind N64 (6.75 million)
The Wii will be the first Nintendo home console to sell more than 10 million in Europe (and will likely go on to sell 20-30 million if not 30-40)
