Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Computer games scheme is 'gimmick'

Most of the Wii Sports package doesn't give you any real exercise but the boxing does on a par with aerobics. Everytime I have a good 30 min session on it I'm waving my arms around like a maniac and my heart rate goes right up, I get hot and my arms ache the next day. Anyone who tries to tell you that it is not real exercise simply has an agenda against videogames.

If you actually play Wii tenis as Tenis is meant to be played then you will get your exercise not as real tennis but still.

The only sports that you dont get any or very little is bowling and golf.

Now the world is weird  and people take Prozac  to make it normal.

Is marijuana the best medicine?

Some exercise is better than no excerise.

Agreed. It's when it replaces other, more benificial methods of exercise there is a problem.

I'd say it depends. I find every "real" exercise besides raquet sports boring. Say an hour of fun and intense Wii Tennis would be equivalent to ten boring minutes on the treadmill, then I'd go for the Wii hour every time. (of course it would be best with real tennis, but that's often a lot of hassle setting up etc)
