it's about the server location.. the PSN store doesn't have their servers in germany.. Nintendo did..

I think they are still in germany ?
Never heard that noe hq moved away from germany, or the servers ?

I think it was just a misunderstanding with nintendo and the german laws and they fixed it now.

good thing they fixed it and the pp having a wiiu can be a bit more happy now :)

Good news for Europeans, maybe this was one of the reasons the sells are horrible there, so now that this law has been fixed then the sales might increase a little. Highly doubt that's the main reason but it's just a guess.

Nintendo and PC gamer

Damn. They called out the German government and won.

great news

No. Again, they simply didn't have to do this

The HQ of Nintendo of Europe and the servers are located in Germany, so yes they have to follow German laws.

This is good news, and I hope they'll one day offer their online services where I live.

Usually the Nintendo Ninjas are good about legal compliance. You'd figure they'd've had this squared away with the Bundesrepublik before this.

Well, the point is that there is no such regulation in Germany. Nintendo's statement makes it sound like there was a problem with german law. There isn't. Two days ago I purchased Resident Evil 5 off PSN because of the Resident Evil promotion. It was 2pm, a bright day and I didn't even have to confirm my age. It was just *click* and download. I can also download Bioshock from the Mac App Store or go into any store and buy an 18+ rated game. It's not the dark age here, really Most game packages even explicitly say "uncut" on them and none of those publishers ever got into trouble.

Edit: I guess the real reason is that some companies (Nintendo, Amazon,...) are simply afraid to get into trouble with the USK.

Really? lol awesome Well, apparently they were overly careful but that's just the way Nintendo is. Anyways, I love my Wii U and I'm happy they sorted this out. Guess I'll be downloading ZombiU this week with the price discount and all... and I won't even have to wait for the dark do my horrifying business muhaha...

But they don't have to 'follow' laws that don't exist ... germany haven't changed the laws so that nintendo can now do this.
It was a nintendo 'policy' which they said were the german laws fault (scapegoat). But I think they changed their policy because of the shitstorm of the nintendo owners.

Because now suddenly they are allowed to. (again germany haven't changed any laws regards to this)

NoE redeems themselves. Good news.
