Whoever voted for me to quit gaming should come in here and say it to my face so that I can punch him in the spleen. And then break his fingers and toes so he can never play a game again.

I do I'm just not a big believer in getting a system day one. You dont plan on getting it day one from what you said so the question you are asking is "should i get this system that i want to play these games on now or should i save and not buy a system for the next 2/3 years?"

I don't mean this negatively, how many of them do you think will fall through :P. |
I think one might have already lol but Shadowrun Returns, Project Eternity, Wasteland 2 and Torment all should come together nicely and that is already more than I will have the patience to play lol.

It's obvious what the answer is. you have held off all these years on buying a PS3 so you are clearly not in the market for a PS4 for at least 4 to 5 years after launch.
Buy the PS3 now and start saving immediately thereafter for the PS4 in a few years. Simple

Well clearly the PS4 will be really expensive and I have PC games to buy so it will probably take me a couple years to save up (Ok I probably don't need too but I will anyway). That and I'm not planning on getting any console at launch I should have made that clearer in the OP I guess. I have lived for years without a home console so it's not like I am in a hurry.

Why would i want more than one home console? I don't even really need one, and the PS3 back catalog would keep me in games for like 5 years at least lol (PS3 games would go in my ever increasing backlog of games I may never get round to playing but have access to so I won't be playing a lot between all the awsome new release PC games). Besides if I get a PS3 that means I will have to spend more on PC upgrades to play superior versions of multiplatform games,.

This is my answer, as well.
Let's be honest, if you don't have a history with the Uncharteds, the God of Wars, the Killzones, and all the rest, then a PS4 won't be a big deal for you. If you get a PS3, however, you can catch up on all those games at really cheap prices, and if you get into them, you can grab a PS4 a couple of years from now. If your goal is to get the most bang for your buck, and the most fun games for quite awhile, then the PS3 is the better choice; if you want to feel like you're on the cutting edge, the PS4 is probably the way to go.
In my opinion, the PS3 brings the most to the table for the next couple of years. That's what I would do, especially since I'm probably going to wait a year on the PS4, anyway.
