Forums - Microsoft - Gears of War Judgement 79 metacritic so far

My humble opinion: Reviews shouldn't give scores or recommendations, and should simply discuss the games strong points and weak points and leave it up to the reader to decide, these days scores are just used to pull in views/hits.

7 now... i just know some ass hat is going to rate it low

Don't really understand why people get upset about it, the games lately are deserving those scores.

Bioshock should get an easy 90 meta, simply because of it's unique background it's going to get a free pass with most reviewers even if it doesn't change anything and is more of the same,

I think it's pretty obvious that it's drastically different from Bioshock 1. It's almost like a new IP using an existing franchise name

Just saying :)

Not implying it is more of the same, I'm just referring to the type of game. I suppose it's got that adventure feel to it, so even if the bones were the same it's still a different game and hence the difference isn't an issue, even if it basically the same. GOW doesn't have that asset to use, it's not mystical, it's not intruiging and it's not unique - Nor should it be, it's an FPS. FPS are about good engines basically.

Unfortunately reviewers are idiots and can't see things like that.

What a great year for gaming! Of the five games I was anticipating the most, three of them have turned out to be disappointments. Here's hoping that neither BioShock Infinite nor The Last of Us will join Dead Space 3, GoW: Ascension, and GoW: Judgment.

Coments like this make me laugh...

Do you people enjoy playing games or looking at reviews? I'm sure if you are a Gears fan you don't give a rats ass that Jeff Gerstmann gave it a 6/10 and said...

"Judgment's campaign twists the Gears formula in some interesting ways, but the rest of the package feels pretty thin for a full-priced retail product."

So if it was 39.99 it would be 9/10 but because its 59.99 its 6/10? GTFO Jeff...trying to measure value and fun factor of a video game to each user...G.T.F.O.

I am sorry but he has a point,   I read on the Geow forums that the free for all/ Team Death match has only 4 maps (ofcourse Overrun has some maps for its own).     4 maps is pretty low when the Geow 3 beta had like 3-4 maps.....   If you are not into Overrun I expect someone to get pretty fast bored with it.

How bad could it be? I'm a fan of the series and it'll give me what I'm looking for, I'm sure. Doubt the graphics will be standard setting this time and I'm not particularly hyped like I was for Gears 3 but I'm still getting this game as soon as I wake up tomorrow. Critics be damned!

To someone that like 3rd person shooters or Gears in general, 5 hours of gameplay is better than 30 hours of Final Fantasy gameplay.

I'd pay 50 bucks for 5 hours of classic Sonic gameplay or old school Resident Evil  over 100 hours of a game I don't enjoy any day.

I'll tell you what's going on here with these latest AAA reviews being too low...All these reviewers these days pretend they are anti "cool kids" and slam these big franchises cause it gets them site traffic.

The gameplay is still their and what has been changed is not always positive,  two bullets for the saw off? Great!      but you missed my point..

Gears of war 1-3 all had like 8-12 maps from the start,  Gears of war judgement will end up with 12-14 after you paid another 20 bucks for the season pass. So you get less game than before,  so yeah that is why I bolded the feels pretty thin package.

Meh I don't really see why the lastest games all should deserve a higher score. The last half year the  only games I felt like who deserve an 90 score (but I would not still give) are Forza Horizon and Ni No Kuni.

Seems like more wildly fluctuating reviews, seems to be the standard for game's released in/after 2012.
