Forums - Nintendo - Is the Wii U going to get downloadable content? If so, how much?

When I saw the Wii U was going with flash storage, instead of a harddrive, I had concerns it would get shorted on getting DLC.  I had individuals post and saying the Wii U would get DLC and the flash memory instead of a harddrive, shouldn't be a problem.  Well, I am seeing Need for Speed isn't going to have DLC.  Mass Effect 3 didn't get any either.

So, I am curious, anyone here believe that the Wii U will get DLC?  If so, why do you believe so?  I am not seeing evidence of this being so.

Because it already has games that have dlc on WiiU.

AC3 have gotten DLC, 3 packs already out with the fourth hopefully coming next week along the other consoles

It will depend on the developer and/or the publisher. I don't like DLC anyway, so it will not affect me but is a good source of revenue for the companies so is bad if they decide not to put it there, because the Wii U version will always generate less money.

OK, I can give you an idea, none of the EA published games will have DLC. This is a good assumption.

Just for the WIi U to hold its own, with the likes of Call of Duty, lacking DLC will mean it is less likely to be the game of choice multiplatform.

Give it time. Games will get all the DLCs unless Sony or Microsoft has paid to keep it exclusive.

Depends on the publisher and developer, I wouldn't expect any for any EA games however.

How is the DLC going to fit onto a wiiu hard drive. It must be like 2GB worth of DLC. If you bought an 8gig wiiu it won't work. If you download 2 or 3 different DLC packs on your "32gb" wiiu you'd end up having no free space left.
