For some reason I can't stop listening to this song and yet every time I listen to it, it makes me very despondent. I guess when I hear the song, I think of my own challenges and fights to come to terms with god. The lead singer of this song obviously lost the fight and came to terms with him and of course I didn't being an atheist, but I can't help but feel the same processes described in this song happened for me as well.

I think when I look around this world and see people, they just don't seem to make a lot out of their beliefs. I mean, maybe most think that one day that I just decided to become atheist, but that wasn't it at all. This was a solid 8-9 years of my life of continuous questioning and discussion. In reality it was a lot that was described in the song here, that it's a battle. Maybe some don't go through that, but I would think with any form of beliefs, you would want them challenged just to make sure you have the right one... but people don't do that.

Maybe one of these days I'll write something similar to what the lead singer of Anberlin, describing what it's like to literally fill lost in an a battle you can't win.
