Overall, I would rate the operating systems like this:

- Windows Mobile 6/10 (lack of features out of the box, clunky interface, doesn't do anything extremely well)

- Blackberry 8/10 (amazing feature set, slightly bulky interface, overall very business-oriented, slightly lacking in multimedia stuff)

- iPhone OS 8.5/10 (missing a few BB features, amazing interface, Maps and other programs very multimedia friendly, Mac-friendly which is important tom me).

I would rate them the same as you did, aside from the fact that the mobile MS OS does a lot of things very well. It has the most apps for it, and I can DL an SDK for it to make my own apps in .NET (and have). I used "The Missing Sync" to sync with my Mac, and it worked well.

The only thing I really don't like about it, is MS took the appoarch of stuffing everything they can into a phone, as apposed to making an OS designed to be the best OS for a phone. It's great to fill up a feature list on the side of a box, but not so great to use as a phone on a daily basis.

Very true. There are a ton of apps for Windows Mobile that can be downloaded and developed.

I just wish the thing came with more out of the box. I'm not a big fan of loading a bunch of things on my phone and usually stick pretty close to the stock install.

 I can see why you like Apple products then. I'm almost the complete oposite. Altho i like when a product functions wellf the box, i also like to adapt the interface to my usage and workflow needs, rather than adapting myself to the interface.

.

I used to enjoy tweaking the hell out of everything (former PC gamer here) but over the years, I just got tired of it.

BTW, great Full Throttle pic. I loved that game.

Apple is in a bit of a sticky situation atm.

The iPhone could be the single greatest thing of all time, but it's plagued by crappy amounts of storage space, simply because more space would mean KILLING the entire range of iPods. It's like, they have to restrict one line of devices in order not to kill the other.

@rocketpig
Thx, it's one of my favourite games ever. It always reminds me that you can do great gaming experience without gazillions of polygons and billions of shaders. Great art direction is most important factor in any creative segment, and as a graphics designer i want to live in that utopia :)

@mr-money
I think it's of vital importance for Apple that it gains share on the phone market, because IMO, seeing that almost every phone has a MP3 player ability nowadays (alongside with expandable storage via memcards and also video playing ability), dedicated MP3 players like iPod could soon (if not already) experience great loss of market share due to mobile phones.
