Err, excuse me? This has to be the worst, err... argument I've ever seen. (PS, "Uhm" is ridiculously annoying. The 'h' doesn't belong there!)

Not to mention that most English speaking people can make the proper "r" sound either lol. So when Icelanders are speaking they are insulting the entire world

Err, I think it was popularised by J.K Rowlings take on that sound we use inbetween sentences. Erm, um, am, ehhh and...it varies but I think she choose the right one for the English accent and its pretty easy to visualise what is happening in the conversation. Personally I use, erm, as it makes me sound just a bit more ignorant.
