S4 is smaller.

S4: 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm
S3: 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm

....how can this be?

I understand why you don't like Samsung phones, I'm not a big fan either, but that completely false. A tech guy like you, you should have known better.

No it isn't false. How is it false?

Snapdragon 600 in HTC One is 40% faster than Sanpdragon S4 Pro in Galaxy S4

Camera on HTC One is being praised as the best cell phone camera on the market right now (other than Pureview 808) with amazing low light performance. This has to do with the face HTC isn't just throwing Megapixels at the sensor but is making them larger so they can take in more detail and light. Low light performance on HTC One is amazing.

Software is another no contest. Have you every used TouchWiz on Samsung phones? It just sucks. Sense on HTC Phones sucks less and is closer to Androids true flavour... All these bullshit features samsung gets people to line up for are nothing but gimmicks. I know quite a few people that use the S3 and they all tell me that first thing they do is disable them because they drain the battery much faster and are essentially useless.

There are two versions of the S4, one comes with Octa core processor, the other come with a Snapdragon that is clocked at higher speed than the HTC One S600, and don't forget the DDR3 ram.

HTC one Ultrapexle camera samples are already all over the internet, nothing is so grounbreaking about them really , it does take a great low light pics like Nokia's phone , but that's just about it.

Software part, I have to respectfully disagree. Sense is just terrible ( haven't tried 5 yet ) and tries too hard to be different for the sake of it, it is very heavy and causes the phone to lag alot. TouchWiz on the other hand is well optimized and features packed UI , I adore the " gimmicks " that it has to offer, looks terrible though :)

LOL, now Samsung knows what it feels like to be put up to unrealistic expectations.

You can't re-invent the wheel every year. Granted Apple does need to shake up iOS.

If there isn't a large screen iPhone announced by this year, I think I'm out and getting a SIV. I like my iPhone 4 a lot, but I want the larger screen real estate. I like to play games and watch videos on my phone and browse the web a lot, and a bigger screen is simply better.

Regardless though... Here is an article which kind of explains what I am on about with my posts here.

Yeah, HTC is absolutely the better choice. I mean, It is just as big as s4 even though its screen is 0.3 inch less, it doesn't feature an SD card slot, doesn't have removable battery, the battery is smaller etc. But who cares, HTC has the looks so that is  automatically better option.

I watched the press conference, and thought it was joke. It was pretty bad, and they hardly told us much about its specs and features.
Also, this phone is just a bigger version of the S3. They should have made a brand new design. Also, the features aren't that special in this phone, and will probably be outdone by some other phone makers in a few months.

I was expecting a new design too. I think it's funny how Samsung is trying to be Apple now with the way they present the Galaxy S4.

Why do people need a phone that big? 5 inches really? At some point they have to stop increasing the screen size, because people have to be able to fit it in their pockets. I'll stick with the iPhone thanks, I don't need that piece of junk. iPhone is the perfect size, it fits just right in my hands and it is lightweight.

İt is not bigger than S3, the only junk here is your post.

Sense 5 it a totally different beast vs sense 4. It's way faster cleaner looking and less resource hogging. I use it on my droid dna and it rocks! Also sense has a better ui than touchwiz. Also samsung is becoming like apple and i am done with supporting them. Gone from an s3 to a dna and I ain't looking back.

The xperia z looks like an amazing phone + its waterproof capabilities are amazing. It has a great camera and I love that sony factory installs screen protectors on their devices (so no dust or airbuubles get underneath).

An s4 pro proc. is more than enough for mobile web browsing, looking at mail, watching movies, playing potty games, or listening to music. I don't get the whole ordeal of superpowerful smartphones. There is no use for it atm.

The one imo is a better phone than the s4. It's a cleaner looking device, has better speakers/camera, a 4.7 inch full rgb s-lcd 3 display (Gorgeous with my dna), has a solid feel to it, imo sense is cleaner looking imo.

The new Sense definitely looks nice and looks closer to stock than touchwiz. Pretty much only thing I am hesitant about One is the lack of SD card slot and removable battery. They were so close to perfection but screwed up again in those areas. At least give me my SD card slot. Xperia Z has SD card slot but the screen is nowhere near One. Decisions, decisions.

Just go for the S4 or Xperia Z. They both seem like great phones, and both will probably sell better than the HTC One. I'd also recomend the Lumia 920 cause that phone is excellent, and the OS is more appealing IMO although its a bit heavy compared to the S4 and Xperia.

One thing I do a lot on my dna is use an otg cable to either connect my fiio e17 amp with it to listen to music (beats audio sucks, and s4 processor has a terrible built in dac), and connect my 64gb usb drive to it. It's amazing what I can do with android. Hell I can connect someone else's android and transfer files as well with that.

S4 is out of question for me. The reason is, I had a Galaxy S (and I actually still use it) I dropped it a lot (like once everyday) but it is still perfectly functional. I sometimes just throw it around in the house for fun. Two of my friends asked me for a durable phone because they drop their phones a lot like me and I recommended S3 to both.  Within one month, the screens of both phones cracked and one of them had a case on. I don't trust Samsung anymore. What is the purpose of plastic if the phone is not really durable? Functionality wise it is the best phone though.

Windows phone is out of question. I like it but I'd never use it as my daily driver. Great for a lot of people though, I am considering a Lumia 620 for my mother as a gift.
