In the first year PS2 sold about 10 Million, but it was just 6 months on the market in USA/Europe in that time frame. PS2 sold 1.4 Million in the first month in Japan, not counting USA/Europes first month,  Launch shipments were combined about 2-2.5 Million for the 3 main markets. (1 Mil Jap, 0.5 Mil EU. 0.5-1 Mil USA).

No offence but this is kind of expected. The Wii U saw similar statements maid and I'm sure the next Xbox will to.

The Wii U had a great launch actually, so if the PS4 can do the same or more, that would be amazing already :D

True, but look at the Wii U now. I'd rather have a good first year which hasn't happened with anything that has launched the past couple of years (Vita, 3DS, Wii U) Lets hope PS4 and 720 will be different.

I´ve seen him too. But really, this is getting ridiculous. The amount of hype people are generating towards this machine, and the exagerations in every possible way ("Unprecedented Demand"), is only going to play against Sony and Sony fans when the PS4 is released and the EXTREME sales you are expecting won´t be achieved.

If the retailer reports "unprecedented demand", how is it an exaggeration on the part of Sony fans (since you ignored the first post, a response here would be nice)?


I think the retailer must be exagerating things to hype the machine. The Industry is collapsing and he must keep his job in order to stay alive. With the Wii U they did the same, but saddly the machine is not selling well. Now it´s time to try with the PS4.

Now who's the one exaggerating?

it wasn't confirmed for launch so that may be a factor.  Then again neither was Driveclub but I guess people want a racing game to compliment their shooter/adventure game.  I'll be getting Infamous for xmas if it's out by then and get it myself if not.  KZ will be my only launch game while Watch Dogs and Infamous will be on the xmas list along with a second controller and GTA5 (PS3 if not ported to PS4).


yea i wouldnt worry the few people i know that are interested are most excited about infamous but we all thought it was definately not a launch title? killzone and watch dogs are for certain from what they have said and drive club is aiming for launch.

Nope, you don't, but it also means that anything you aim to push as credible should, for now, be pinned with a "grain of salt" tag. 

I followed that entire conversation you had with him and I normally don't follow convos that long.

It's like I claim to you that pandas can fly. So you ask me to provide some evidence for flying pandas and then I tell YOU to go search for flying pandas as proof, even though I was the one who made the ridiculous claim to begin with.
