Even if we're only taking into consideration what you said about the $3 cost of 3G itself, removing that cost and most potential customers not caring if it's there or not, if nothing else that is an easy way to trim $3 from the cost of producing a Vita with little effort and likely not much backlash. People in the west generally don't care for AT&T as it is. |
I suppose, but I and many other Vita owners (especially from launch due to bundling and let's be honest, launch Vita's are a large percentage of lifetime sales) have 3G Vitas and there are a variety of games and apps that utilize 3G and benefit from the GPS. The wifi only version was a mistake in seperating the install base for these features in an attempt to sell Vita at $300 profit point, they would have been better off selling a 3G only versions at $250 or $275 to begin with. Japan is a sign they are fixing this issue and the PS4's in the box approach to everything is another sign. I'm expecting a price drop for all Vita systems to $200 to phase out the wifi.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
