Sony has great momentum. Just need to be careful with the price

indeed it does have, if it can hit a $399-$450 price tag for base model im sold

You're sold, sure. But since it won't have a blatant graphical advantage over PS3 and a much smaller library, I'm doubtful that most gamers will be sold.

I'm not sure what people were expecting. As with the Wii U, 3DS and Vita, it's a new hardware redesign and the first one for around 5 years from each company, if not longer. Ofcourse there's going to be buzz!

It's whether or not we still have that buzz in a few months.

Not really sure about wiiU and 3ds...but comparing the buzz around PS4 to that of the VITA and they are truly on different scales. Most people i know in real life have no clue about the VITA. But the PS4 has been a general topic since its announcement at my work place, and with friends and family.

Quite often people would come up to me (people that know im a gamer) and say "Hey did you hear about the PS4?!!".  What ive noticed is that the PS4 has already reached a level of awareness amongst consumers that is similar to PS3, 360 and Wii. I would say the PSV and the WiiU have struggled to do this. I think the 3ds has had similar successes.

Gotta love the fans who overhype consoles. It gives the manufacturer excuse to charge more knowing that more would be willing to pay for it.

Look at the 3DS...

This level of hype can't be made by fans only.

"Almost nobody in UK will even know about the event of the 20 february..." (cit.)

lol who said that?

After reading the full interview i feel that the title is a bit at odds with the content of the interview.

Anyone agree?

im confident gakai(i used their service, way better than onlive haha which alot of people tend to compare giving gakai an automatic bad rep for streaming games in general) will be there to handle the backwards compability part if it does take a year or 2.. but no one is forcing anyone to sell their ps3s so idk how people could say a smaller library, alot better game launch compared to the ps3 if i can remember(if kzshadowfall, drive club, infamous make it around launch time of course). i rather pay the extra 100-150 cost to get better original future Ip's from sony than mario 1000 from nintendo... than again imo of course.

It's not Forbes, it's a random blogger posting on their website.

I remember PS All Stars getting more hype than Halo 4 on N4G, yet it didnt do very well.
